The son of a pilot (and a former pilot himself), Dr. Grafton grew up all over the world. Raised mainly in  Florida, he spent his teenage years in Japan before moving to and completing college in Alaska. Dr. Grafton moved to California to attend dental school at University of the Pacific School of Dentistry, then settled and began practicing in Pleasant Hill in 1981.Â
Dr. Grafton volunteers his time to the Boy Scouts of America managing the local district’s Friends of Scouting fundraiser.  For many years he gave his time as a dentist providing preventive dental services in underprivileged neighborhoods in Contra Costa County.
