Dr. Sheila Marie Hans Bennett, DDS

Dr. Sheila Bennett D.M.D.
A Northwest native, Dr. Bennett earned her Bachelor's Degree at Willamette University. She completed her dental training in Portland at Oregon Health and Science University, where she earned a reputation amongst her peers for integrity, clinical excellence and compassionate care. As a student, she enjoyed several Public Health Internships providing dental care to underserved populations in Portland and the Willamette Valley. Dr. Bennett graduated from OHSU with honors and joined Laurelhurst Dentistry in 2000.
As a dentist, Dr. Bennett maintains her skills and knowledge base through extensive continuing education courses and membership in the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. She enjoys dentistry as the intersection of so many of her passions; science, artistry, problem-solving, education, and healing.
As a volunteer, Dr. Bennett traveled to Cambodia with Medical Teams International in January, 2009. There she worked with a team …of dental and lay personnel to provide dental treatment to abandoned and orphaned children and their caretakers. She remains deeply impressed and touched by the resilience, composure and sheer joyfulness of these special children.
Away from the office, Dr. Bennett enjoys such creative pursuits as gardening, cooking, quilting and knitting. She likes bike commuting, loves tennis, and live in Southeast Portland with her husband, daughter and two incredibly active redheaded cats.
