Jonathan Bryan Tiu, MD

Jonathan B. Tiu, M.D. is board-certified in neurology and brain injury medicine. As the Director of Neuro Rehabilitation, Hackensack Meridian Neuroscience Institute at Hackensack University Medical Center, Dr. Tiu serves on the faculty of the Department of Neurology at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine. He provides neurorehabilitation care for people living with a neurological disorder such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, concussion, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson disease, brain tumor, and other diagnoses. 

In addition to helping patients optimize cognitive and motor function, Dr. Tiu specializes in treatments for spasticity, including botulinum toxin injection. He has contributed 6 peer reviewed publications to medical literature and is committed to educating members of the community about concussion and stroke rehabilitation. Adopting a team-based approach to care, at the Neuroscience Institute he works closely with other neurologists, health and …neuropsychologists, and rehabilitation therapists. He looks forward to directing the gait lab at the Clifton, NJ, campus scheduled to open in late 2024.

Dr. Tiu earned his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana, and completed his Neurology residency at New York University School of Medicine, serving as Grand Rounds Chief Resident in his final year. He then completed a Neurorehabilitation fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri, and served on the faculty of the Departments of Neurology & Orthopaedic Surgery there.

Dr. Tiu is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Society of Neurorehabilitation, the American Heart Association and the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine.
