I recently faced a challenging medical journey when Dr. Hijaz and Henry Ford Tumor Board diagnosed me with a rare and aggressive type of cervical cancer. Remarkably, they reached this conclusion without the usual imaging and pathology that typically guide such diagnoses. Their expertise and collaborative approach were crucial in identifying this chemo- and radiation-resistant form of cancer. However, after seeking a second opinion, I learned that I actually had a rare and benign condition. This was incredibly disappointing, especially since the initial team never reached out after delivering such significant news over the phone, lacking the human touch that is so vital in healthcare.
