Dr. Joshua Samuel Adam Jackson, MD

I found Dr. Jackson after searching for a palliative care specialist in the Atlanta area. According to Modern Healthcare and Atlanta Magazine, he is listed as a top doctor so I sought out an appointment with him. My cardiologist was able to place a referral to his office and I was able to schedule a tele-visit appointment. While I prefer in-person appointments, speaking with him over the video was effective and convenient. I felt confident knowing that he had access to my records and corresponded with my other doctors prior to my appointment. I was able to easily schedule follow up visits and visits that included my family members who do not live with me but are involved in my healthcare decisions. Dr. Jackson is very easy to speak with as he is personable, knowledgeable and compassionate. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking supportive medicine or palliative care.

Dr. Jackson has stellar bedside manner! The compassion and care he showed while providing supportive oncology pain management to my grandmother really left a lasting impression on my family. He was available and thorough in both his care and explanation, once it was time helped he put us in touch with in-home hospice, alleviating the need to find and coordinate one in top of everything else. I felt like my grandmother was being cared for by a family member, for which my family and I are eternally grateful for .

My aunt was referred to Dr. Jackson by her oncologist for palliative care due to her medical diagnosis. As her healthcare agent, I am involved in most of the decisions with regard to her care. I received a call from Dr. Jackson’s office and was happy to be offered an evening telemedicine appointment as my work schedule was hectic, and I didn’t want this to hinder my aunt’s ability to get an appointment. I had several questions while speaking with the patient care coordinator, as I didn’t know what to expect at the appointment. Not only that, but I had to relay this information to my aunt who was experiencing a lot of anxiety and hesitation about needing palliative care. The coordinator was patient, personable, and polite. She reassured me that Dr. Jackson should be able to address my concerns and shed more light on what to expect with my aunt’s care. She also made suggestions on how to prepare for the appointment. My aunt, who is very technology averse, needed assistance with getting… set up with MyChart and the coordinator was able to assist us with that. On the day of the appointment, she guided us on the phone until we connected with Dr. Jackson. Dr. Jackson had a warm, bright and bubbly personality - not what I was expecting for a specialist in his field! He is incredibly knowledgeable and took his time to fully explain all of the details that were important in helping us navigate the next steps in care for my aunt. It was remarkable to see her lighten up while speaking with him, given the serious nature of our conversation. The appointment was just a little over an hour long and very insightful. There were some complex decisions we knew we needed to make, but Dr. Jackson was able to assist in making those decisions a bit more palatable. Dr. Jackson is very responsive with incredible bedside manner. He has returned my calls even when he is out of office and is always pleasant to speak with. My aunt and I appreciate having him and Supportive Medicine Specialists at this point in her care. Thank you Dr. Jackson!

Dr. Jackson did not provide any compassion for the issues that I presented to him. He only offered temporary solutions for me. I will not go back to him.
