He was raised in a medical family where both his father and grandfather were family practitioners. Dr. Saffran received his podiatric medical degree from Temple University School of Podiatric of Podiatric Medicine in 1983 and completed his residency training in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery in 1986 at St. Joseph's hospital in Philadelphia, the podiatric medical school affiliated surgical residency program.Dr. Saffran entered private practice in 1986 and maintains hospital privileges for inpatient and outpatient care primarily at INOVA Fairfax Medical Campus and INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital. He served as Section Chief for Foot and Ankle Surgery/Podiatric Section of the Department of Orthopedics at INOVA Fairfax Medical Campus from 2004-2008 and again from 2012-2016. In addition he serves on the residency training committee of the INOVA Fairfax Medical Campus Podiatric Residency …Program. Dr. Saffran is married with two boys. Dr. Saffran enjoys swimming, hockey and baseball.

This podiatrist will try to put words in your mouth, after he messes your foot up. Don't Let Him! .. This is why he doesn't like 'witnesses' in the room.. especially with children and his elderly patients.

My feet love him because he`s treated them well for a long time. I`ve consulted with Dr. Saffran for treatment for several injuries and to remedy my flat feet and associated discomfort. Each surgery has successfully corrected the problem or repaired my injury. The recent was a "Jones Break". The surgeries were adroitly performed and recovery went as predicted. In fact, the surgical scars for each surgery are minimally visible - a testament to Dr. Saffran`s experience and skill. I`ve been a patient for a long time and recommend him.

I am a thirty plus year patient of Dr. Saffran. Over the years, I`ve consulted Dr. Saffran for “routine” foot problems as well as an ankle problem that required surgery and a toe problem that also required surgery. The ankle problem was predicted by Dr. Saffran many years ago in an initial consultation and when the predicted problem manifested itself, I again consulted him for surgical remedy of the problem. These surgeries remedied my ankle and my foot problems and have restored my quality of health and normal mobility. My loyalty (over 30 years – I could be patient #1) is well placed. I am very grateful to Dr. Saffran for his expertise and skills and for being the driving force in my foot and ankle health [I have size 15 feet which are “maintenance intensive”].

I have been using Dr Saffron for foot related issues for multiple years. I found him to be highly professional, very knowledgeable and has a very pleasant, understanding and supportive demeanor. I have had prior experience with other physicians and find Dr. Saffron to be excellent. I recommend Dr. Saffron to friends and family members.
