Dr. David Butts Rion, MD

Dr Rion is the most arrogant, rude and inconsiderate doctor I have ever saw. He does NOT put his patients first. I will never see him again. His staff were nice and friendly but his ego is bigger than him... I had to ask him for the results of my MRI. He would rush me through my appointments like he didn't have time for me. I might consider the other doctors here in the future but I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO HIM.

I had TKR in November of 2021 performed by Dr. Rion. As of November 2023, I am still experiencing lots of pain. Most of my appointments with his office were with his PA Chris who is absolutely wonderful. I hope Chris finds another practice to be associated with because Dr. Rion is a complete JERK! The few times that I had seen him he acts as if I am a bother. Always frustrated with me as if I had done something wrong. This guy has no Empathy-Sympathy nor Compassion. He needs to get out of this profession because he does not have people skills. I will never step foot in any practice he is a part of and wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy!

I ran an orthopaedic practice in Virginia. Worst doctor I have ever seen. I waited for over 1.5 hours to see him for my hip. Walks in and says in a very gruff manner.."What are you here for"..Not sure why he didn't look at the notes the medical assistant took. I told him and also explained it wasn't fair that his staff and managers probably have to take the heat for him being so late. Also, told him I wouldn't tolerate in the practice I ran. He says "Well, I'm the best"..No, no you aren't. You have a lot to learn David.you don't deserve the respect of doctor.

Surgery almost 1 year ago, knee still swollen, giving out, more pain now than hbefore surgery. Day if surgery Dr Rion dud not see me pre ir post op, and never met with my family after my surgery. Drs OA discharged me from hospital without seeing me. All follow up appts were with OA, nit sure why. My knee buckles and goes to the side. Working on 2nd opinion because this surgery doesn't seem to have gone right

At first Dr. Ron was very nice. Had a knee replacement and the pain never stopped and the knee was lose and I couldn't walk with out pain and a limp even after 18 months. We agreed on a custom knee however 9 months later found out he didn't even order it and used a standard knee. He NEVER told me. He refused to give me a referral to get a second opinon. He was so rude to me after that. I paid for the mri of the custom knee to top it off. I had another knee replacement 3 months ago on the same knee and its doing great without pain and a limp.

I have been seeing Dr Rion for over a year. I did not want surgery and he worked with me until I was ready for the surgery. My surgery went well. I find Dr Rion to be honest and upfront in his advice.

I had more knee pain and worse walking post-surgery than prior to the knee replacement. Dr. Rion seemed more interested in his technique that minimizes scars. He was angry about feedback from my physical therapist, and had no good recommendations regarding my pain and walking issues.

No Doctor should talk to or about a patient the way that man did me. He have no compassion towards patients. He acted as if he was angry upon entering the examination room before examining me. We where not accompanied by a female nurse during the examination. Dr. Rion was just disrespectful towards me.I have never felt so humiliated in my life by a doctor. I left his office crying from disappointment.I pray that God will touch Dr. Rion’s heart. He need to change the way he handle first time patients as I was that day in mention, or toward any patient.I would have really like if he had of address the problem I went in for rather than lash at me due to my weight. Visiting him have changed my view about doctors.
