Dr. Yumiko Hoeger

Dr.Hoegar is my primary care physician. She is very easy to talk to and has provided excellent medical care.

After our previous physician left Banner Health, we switched over to Dr Hoeger. It’s been a few years now and we love the new building they are in. Recently, I went in for abdominal pain and they wanted me to just go straight to the ER. I asked them to do testing on me first before I go spend thousands of dollars for an ER visit. They were able to do a CT scan and blood work to confirm it wasn’t appendicitis and sent me home. The pain subsided a few days later and I get a phone call to schedule an appt with a GI specialist without a thorough detail of my CT results. My pain was already gone and I wanted to know if it was still absolutely necessary for me to see a GI specialist. My husband ended up in the hospital a few days later for gallstones and pancreatitis. I had asked for Dr Hoeger to call me with the CT results to see if I was on the same path as him since I had been having similar pains as him. She pretty much sent a message back to the person who forwarded my message saying… she’s too busy to contact her patients unless it is very bad news. I had also reached out via phone to her assistant about my mental health because I was having several breakdowns from the stress of my husband being in the hospital, initially being misdiagnosed and having to be admitted for a few weeks, and me being a single mom to 3 yr old twins and running a business on my own. I had lost over 10 lbs within a few days and knew I needed to speak to someone. The response I received was for me to contact the hospital or speak to a chaplain at the hospital or check with my insurance on providers. All the psychologists I tried calling were booked out and could not see me. I had hoped my dr would have been able to refer me to a psychologist to get me in sooner but she would not. You would think a doctor would follow up on their patients after reaching out regarding their mental health. She can’t even take the time to call to go over CT results and answer her patients concerns. She should reevaluate her career as a doctor. Although my husband was supposed to follow up with her after being discharged, we have decided to switch primary doctors immediately.
