Dr. Mark F Kurd

Dr Hurd is the most arrogant doctor I have ever seen in 50 years. He contradicted his own staff and used foul language in my brief meeting with him. I am truly appalled that Rothman would hire and retain a cancer to their organization. I thought they were better than this. As long as he is employed at Rothman I will never go there again or recommend this place to anyone.

Friendly, professional staff. Appointments are scheduled promptly. Dr. Kurd has a warm and friendly demeanor. Highly skilled and knowledgeable. He was highly recommended to me and I’m happy to have him do my surgery.

I just saw this doctor and he didn’t examine me, answer my questions, or go over my health history. He went over my xrays and MRIs, said he didn’t know why my radiology reports indicated abnormalities, and said “well you don’t need spine surgery” and laughed (though I was actually seeing him for chronic pain) and he said to see a different kind of specialist (rheumatologist and or neurologist) but it took some pressing to even get a suggestion for specialists and he said to look their contact information up online. The appointment didn’t last 10 minutes and he was incredibly dismissive. I would discourage ANYONE from seeing him for ANYTHING unless you know for sure you need spine surgery. He mentioned more than once (arrogantly) how he was a “spine surgeon” and couldn’t speak to anything beyond surgery.

I was in extreme pain for 1 yr. prior to my surgery. Other doctors misdiagnosed me, gave me NSAIDs, and sent me to PT, which did nothing. Dr. Kurd identified the severe herniation right away. He performed my outpatient surgery. Once I awoke, I was walking pain free. I feel great and would recommend him 100%.

I was totally misdiagnosed by Dr. Kurd. Went to him because I was having low back/hip/leg pain. He said it was definitely not my hip that was causing the problem and told me I needed a spinal fusion. I asked him if I should get a hip injection to confirm that it was not the hip causing the pain. He said not necessary. Unconvinced, I went to Laser Spine and they did a deep nerve root block to confirm where the pain was coming from. They said definitely the hip. Went to another spine surgeon who told me the compressed disk was not that bad and it was definitely the hip causing the pain. Confirmed with a hip surgeon and had the hip replacement. Pain gone.

Dr Mark Kurd & Carmen Carrero Pa-c are absolutely the best at what they do. They performed 2 surgeries on me & 1 on my husband. The pain for both of us was excruciating prior to surgery. We woke up from anesthesia after surgery & THE PAIN WAS GONE. On our numerous appts. with these 2 men were always pleasant & informative experiences. Their goal is to make you feel better & they succeed. I have recommended them to friends & family & they were also pleased.

Dr Kurd performed 2 spinal surgeries on me & 1 on my husband. He is a phenomenal surgeon. I was seen by many drs & they were only interested in giving me medicine or injections. Dr Kurd looked at my films & told me he could help me. Prior to his performing a lumbar laminectomy, I was in SEVERE pain for 18 months in my entire right leg. After waking up from surgery the pain was GONE ! That was my 1st experience & my next surgery(anterior cervical laminectomy with fusion) was just as successful. My husband also had the anterior cervical laminectomy with fusion & was 100% pleased. Both of us are so thankful to Dr Kurd & Carmen Carrero, his PA, for the wonderful care they provided us. THEY ARE THE BEST !!!!!

7 weeks out from major spinal fusion surgery. 3 previous surgeries from other docs were all unsuccessful. This was my first time with Rothman and Dr. Kurd. I honestly feel great. Zero issues.

I was wheel chaired into O.R.June 4. Five hours later I walked the length of a room. Now 15 weeks post op I can easily walk 3 miles any day, pain free. I am again playing golf pain free. Doctor Kurd changed my life and provided me new motivation for living. i am again playing golf,and for those acquainted i was able to score my age again, 15 weeks after surgery. Nothing I can say here could fully explain my satisfaction, appreciation and comfort, thanks to DR Mark Kurd. I can add, my family likes me a lot better again.
