Dr. Andrew Michael Pavlatos, MD

Several months back, I came to Dr Pavlatos, my regular family practitioner, for a follow-up visit and to request his certification on a pending FMLA case. He has always been short with me, cutting me off during mid sentence/not fully listening to my description, but during this particular visit his demeanor quickly shifted to irritation after I made my request known. He proceeded to go on a rant about my condition, my intentions, and what he perceived as the true nature of my visit. He told me that I needed to "get over it" and implied that I somehow was faking my condition (of which he diagnosed) and manipulating the FMLA process to get out of working. He went further in his judgemental contempt by stating that he "sees this all the time" and "you people pull this ******** all the time." It was the most unprofessional, biased, and racially insensitive statement I've ever heard from someone whose job it is to provide care. I have not returned to his practice since that day. He is a… disrespectful and arrogant man that brings dishonor to the medical profession. If you are looking for a family medical doctor, do not choose Dr Andrew Pavlatos.

The most arrogant doctor I have ever been to. He is so passive aggressive and does not listen to his patient. I feel so rushed and dismissed by him. No bedside manner. I will never ever see him again nor will I refer him to anyone else. waste of my time.

I have been seeing Dr. Pavlatos for almost 15 years. He is very personable and talks to you like a person...not a patient. He really listens to your concerns and addresses the problem.

We moved here from Dallas in 2003 and left a Dr. we adored. We picked as guy from a pamphlet we saw and was close to the train for ease of access. He was not at all what we were looking for. I asked a specialist I see if he had any recommend someone and he did not hesitate to say Dr. Pavlatos. We have been happy with him since minute one. He asks questions and listens.

I have been a patient of Dr. Pavlatos for 9 years, and his the best doctor I have ever had. I am never rushed, quality time, diagnosis,and excellent follow up treatment by both doctors here, as well as the staff.

Dr. Pavlatos spends time explaining what the numbers mean and asking me if I have questions about anything. He also is very concerned about his patients as people, he is very happy to hear new events in my life and offer suggestions and comments.

Was great at taking care of my parents. Allowed us to care for both sets of parents at home with all the help we needed on everything from nursing service suggestions to nutritionist help. to explaining all the medications. He is great with my husband and I. And the most important thing to me, as my children became adults, it was very easy to let them take care of their own appts. knowing that Dr. Andy was the Doctorand because I trust him to guide them correctly for the best possible treatment of whatever problems come up. I know he has the same family values we do, and that makes him a great doctor for my family.

I've had many doctors over the years. I'm an HMO patient because of the cost of the PPO plan where I work. His bedside manor is horrible. He doesn't bother to listen or doesn't seem to actually want to examine you. In my case I brought detailed records with me from my previous Dr in another state and dropped them off a week before my appointment so he could get an idea of my situation. He skimmed over them while I was in there and couldn't even get a accurate read even with the summary I gave him. He started writing prescriptions for drugs without even waiting for my lab tests and I ended buying prescriptions I didn't need anymore. He referred me to a cardiologist who wanted to do an angioplasty without even seeing my lab results since Pavlatos didn't even to bother to send them over. He seems to want to prescribe the latest and most expensive drugs that the drug reps give him samples for even though I told him that my drug plan wouldn't pay for it and I'd have to pay out of pocket. He… finally referred me to a more conservative cardiologist who put me through every test in the book and told me that my cardio status hadn't changed and I didn't need another angioplasty.About 8 months ago I was having very severe chest pains below my right lung and went to the emergency room and they told me to see my primary care and get a consult to check gall bladder and gastro person. I called for a consult and he made a big deal about it and finally gave in and told me to pick it up. When I got there it wasn't available and after twenty minutes of waiting I got an envelope with someone elses name on it and the referral form had been whited out and my name written in. This was the last straw for me. in my opinion he is without a doubt the most uncaring, doesn't listen, grouchy, abrupt, disagreeable and poor excuse for a human being, let alone a person who is supposed to be caring and saving lives.I ended up going to an associate of the excellent cardiologist and after doing some tests determined that I had walking pneumonia. In addition when he did a through exam (which included taking my clothes off----something that Pavlatos never did, he also found a malignant skin cancer on my back. Pavlatos would have never found it since he wasn't caring enough to actually do a full physical exam in the 2 years I was his patient cause I was on an HMO.Stay far away from this man if you aren't on some high end PPO as he doesn't have the time or the demeanor or understanding to be your doctor.

Greatest doctor I have had in my 55 years. . . I have referred him to many of my employees and I've never heard one negative comment from them. He is compasionate and very down to earth.
