Summary

Aileen Shieu, M.D. grew up in the Bay Area, attending college at the University of California at Berkeley, receiving a Bachelor's in Neurobiology. She then attended New York Medical College, earning her Medical Degree. She went on to train as a general surgeon at St. Luke's Roosevelt in New York City. During that time, she decided to specialize in Hand Surgery and she completed a fellowship in Hand and Wrist Surgery at Stony Brook University.

She returned to the Bay Area in 2007 and has been in private practice since. She is certified by the American Board of Surgery and has a Certificate of Added Qualification in Hand Surgery.

Dr. Shieu is also specially-trained in minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery for the wrist as well as Xiaflex (collagenase) injections for the treatment of Dupuytren's Contracture. She in fact trained with the world-renowned Lawrence Hurst, M.D., who helped to invent collagenase for the treatment of Dupuytren's.
