HORRIBLE DR. SUMMONED MY RECORDS FROM 2010 AND SEEMS I HAVE HASHIMOTO'S I GUESS HE THOUGHT I DIDNT NEED OT KNOW...

Overall I was unimpressed. I have had diabetes for over 20 years. He actually asked me "what I wanted from him." He gave very little helpful information and seemed very condescending throughout the entire appointment. This was my first appointment with him, also my first appointment with an endocrinologist in several years due to the cost and my lack of insurance. He acted as though nothing I told him about my recent care made any sense and that I must be confused.

I recently had to switch to .112 mcg Synthroid to treat my low thyroid hormone levels. I had been on .112 mcg Levoxyl for many years with no problems. I experienced immediate side effects from Synthroid that included excessive sweating, insomnia, weight gain, hives, and increased nighttime urination, and fatigue. Dr. Kumar adamantly said my symptoms couldn't be a result of the Synthroid because it has the same active ingredient as Levoxyl. I told him the fillers are different and he again said that none of what I described could be from the Synthroid. Twice I had to ask for the lab to include T3 and T4 in addition to TSH results. When I asked Dr Kumar what the T3 and T4 results were he said, "Who wants to know"? He finally told me what they were and said I should make an appt. with my regular doctor to figure out what was going on. He completely ignored my symptoms (even though they appear on the Patient Education sheet that comes with the prescription from the pharmacy) and refused to… adjust the Synthroid dosage because he said everything was where it should be. Ultimately, I decided to try Levothyroxin the generic of Synthroid. By the time I left the office, I had also decided to look for a new doctor!
