Dr. Alexander John Ghanayem, MD

I have had lower back problems for many years. I saw Dr. Ghanayem for these lower back problems. He asked me my pain levels and I gave them to him for activity and inactivity. I told him my pain was better because of PT helping and it was summer. He told me I had no pain and not to come to him unless I was screaming in pain. I was shocked and hurt by his comments and plan to never go to him again. He did not exam me, check out my joints, or do any of the things doctors in the past have done. I have seen his associates and they have all been wonderful.

My first visit with him, he walked in and informed me that upon glancing at my MRI from a year ago, there’s nothing he can do for me. He told me to take Tylenol and ibuprofen and lose weight. When I started crying out of frustration, he said it wasn’t allowed and I’d be fine. I expressed that I have no quality of life as it is, and I’m stuck in bed more often than not. He didn’t care to listen and referred me to another doctor.

Dr G is excellent! Wonderful surgeon, great bedside manner. Very educated and knows what he is doing. Felt very good in his hands.

SAw him for a fourth opinion and he really took the time to explain the surgical and nonsurgical options for my problem. He did not try to scare me into surgery and was willing to work with me to avoid surgery. Very happy with the visit.

He specifically works for workers comp and absolutely is on their favor. He simply lies for them since he gets paid by them. I hope some day someone sues him for being fraudulent

If you have a Workman’s Compensation Claim Don’t go to see him. He told me one thing and told adjuster a totally different story. Then he told me to come back and see him after Case was settled and he could help me. Beware he works for insurance companies anything for a buck

Excellent surgeon awesome staff

This doctor has a very good reputation! But when workers comp insurance is involve his opinion or diagnosis differs from other fine elite Orthopedic doctors. Find it surprising that a fine Hospital like Loyola would let him practice there and hold him high character! Loyolas character is blemished with his presence, this doctors morals can be bought buy an insurance company at an ailing patients expense. Sounds like it's illegal, but it's just his opinion! So in short, he may be highly skilled but he is not to be trusted! Would he omit to a mistake he personally made? Obviously not!
