Dr Alok S. Desai, MD

I had seen his brother several yeRs ago for kidney stones but when I called Potomac Urology for an appointment concerning a female issue they recommended Dr. Alok because he specializes in female issues. I was impressed at the ease of making an appointment and his thoroughness. He wanted to know about other health issues I was experiencing to enable him to consider all factors that might be causing my symptoms. He’s a keeper!

Although Dr. Desai is a personable fellow, I have been largely disappointed with our patient/doctor relationship. I have asked three times for the doctor to call me in order to answer my questions but I have not heard from him. I purposely schedule appointments on a day during the week when he is scheduled to be there, but he rarely is. I will find a urologist who could be more interested in helping me.

I was at Dr.Alok Desai's office yesterday , I was their 3 years ago and nothing has changed. He's still caring, kind and listens to All Your needs. I didn't rushed at all and I was able to talk to Him and understood all He said. From making the appointment to checking in was so easy I went to His Alexandria office which I love. I was also so happy to see His nurse Zenaida She remembered Me and made Me feel like I was their yesterday what a great welcome back. I recommend Dr.Alot Desai He's the best and so is His staff. I had surgery by Dr. Desai. He treated me like I Was stupid. Told me I was imagining things. Had 2 of the worst weeks of my life after surgery because of his staff giving me wrong information. It took 5 phone calls to straighten out - I wasn't able to get him on the phone had to go through his staff who are unfriendly. The staff act like the patients are bothering them. Other doctors rate him very highly - but they aren't his patients. I will never go back to him.

I had to have emergency surgery and dr. Desai was the doctor called in. He did a remarkable job and was very very caring. He took the time to explain the procedure and made sure that I was at ease with the process. His staff has always been so kind and pleasant to deal with. I recommend him to anyone who is searching for an urologist. I am due to have another surgery in one week on the kidney to remove a stone that was left by another doctor a few years ago. Thanks dr. Desai your the best!!!
