Dr. Nicholas George Lailas, MD

Nick Lailas is the worst doctor I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Thank god I reviewed my blood test and MRI result with 2 other radiologists and a urologist, to learn that and all my results are in normal range for my age. Dr. Lailas lied through his teeth when he read my MRI result and 4k Score just to schedule an absolutely unneeded surgery. STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM LAILAS (not a doctor) AS POSSIBLE.

These people left me hanging in my time of need and I recommend that you look elsewhere. The ER sent me to them when they couldn't find anything during my visit. I reached out to the Urology Group and they were very rude on the phone (that's still a thing in 2020, being rude at work on phone?). Then I explained that of course I know they can't rush my in but waiting for a week for a teleconference when you're in horrible pain isn't a real solution. Refused to speak with Doctor and try to help with my prescription that ran out also. Look at the online reviews for "The Urology Group" and you'll be BLOWN AWAY with the negative reviews. I didn't even look them up beforehand since the ER recommended them. Terrible experience and right now this moment I'm in terrible pain and will probably have to go to hospital again. I don't need the hospital, that's for people who are like "dying in pain". I'm hurting really really bad but I shouldn't be taking up a bed during this pandemic. I needed some… fast help and they just wouldn't compromise on anything. Did you know that this company still uses FAX MACHINES for communication?! Wow people.

Dr. Nicholas Lailas is northern Virginia's best urologist: brilliant, calming, compassionate, thoughtful, and expert surgeon with the moral authority of a medical master of his field. "Can Do" attitude with competent, efficient staff. 5 stars, measured by every angle; except for telephone wait times, albeit a snall price to pay for saving your life.

I've read some of the negative reviews and I can't believe them. I've seen Dr. Lailas for a few years now. Never did I wait for for a unacceptable amount of time. He has always treated me with care. He never rushed any of my exams nor has he pressured me into anything. However, go with his recommendations. He knows his stuff! He will take as much time as needed to answer your questions. Great doctor and a great person.

I decided not to take biopsy. Got letter from him denying me any further service

He saved my life in no uncertain terms. I was told by a group of doctors that my cancer had spread, and that radiation would not help me, Another Urologist and John's Hopkins told me I had too many complications to be operated on. We found Dr. Lailas listed as a top Urologist in the area and asked for his help. He saw me right away & in his cool/calm way told me "I don't believe it has spread. I'll operate on you." A month and a half later performed robotic surgery on me without a hitch. He's highly skilled where it counts, in the operating room. we love him and his staff.

Dr. Lialas is well educated, up to date on the latest procedures. He is a wonderful caring doctor with a great bedside manner. He has never rushed me. You may have to wait sometimes, but it is because he is so good, everyone wants to see him and because he is spending time with his patients. I just pray he never leaves the area.

To be honest I can't rate Dr. Lailas because I never got the opportunity to see him. I was waiting for an hour and a half prior to being called in and that was only after I walked up to the receptionist and said something. Then I was told that "it's normal to wait that long to be seen by Dr. Lailas." excuse me, but not in my book. I don't care how great of a doctor he may be, I too have a life and responsibilities. My time is valuable just like his. The one thing I do know is that the staff really did not seem to care about my frustration. I was just another patient.

Would recommend this doctor and the Urology Group. Everyone I was in contact with was very nice and they never seemed to be rushed when working with me. I had a proceedure done with the davinci robot with very good results.
