Dr. Amy Lutz Teresi, MD

I have several autoimmune diseases as well as other conditions. I've been seeing Dr. Teresi for over ten years. In the past twenty years I've "fired" a number of doctors for various reasons. Early on I quickly learned two things: [1] Dr. T is thorough and will not toss you out of the exam room after 15 minutes, and [2] because of this, you're likely to be waiting to see her some time after your appointment time. Since I don't have the luxury of time, I set it up with the office so that they text me when she's 30 minutes away from being able to see me. This has worked wonderfully. Dr. Teresi is THOROUGH and proactive and provides alternatives. She LISTENS. She is up to date on all new treatment modalities. In my case, Dr. T is out of network, but I happily pay the cash price to see her. She's always been spot on with her diagnostics. Very fortunate to have her. There were some issues years ago with the back office, but as I write this, everyone is on top of things. Wonderful… physician.

My poor sick mom has thyroid problems. She gets severe weakness everyday 3-4 times and lasts for 2-3 hours. Eventually, I found this doctor that I thought was good and can help my mother. After leaving 4 messages and waiting for 3 days, someone calls me from the office. I ask her if this doctor takes medical and medicare. She said the doctor does take medicare but since I have a medical too, she is not willing to see us. She said it was law. I called Medicare and the rep said it is up to the doctor if she does not want see patients with medical and medicare. Yes, she does not want see my mother because my mother is poor and has medical. My mom is so sick and was hoping that I could get a second opinion from her. This doctor just wants money and does not want to deal with poor people. This is not fair. Now I have to find another doctor. I have been to other doctors who do take medicare only. Thanks, doctor Teresi. You are not fair. Help poor too.

As another patient wrote - it is almost impossible to get prescriptions renewed if you use a mail order service. I tried 3 times to get a prescription renewed for Express Scripts because mail order is less expensive for me. I finally gave up went to my local CVS to get my prescription filled. Also wait times are horrible as another patient commented. I am currently looking for another doctor within my plan. Too bad, because Dr. Teresi seems caring, knowledgeable and professional. If she could get her office together I would love to stay with her but the condition of the back office concerns me. I am not sure I can depend on them when I need them.

Very difficult to have pharmacy renew prescription. Lab results get lost. Long waits to see Dr. Even first appointments in the morning are late. Rude receptionist. Dr Teresi seems competent and caring but office service is not tolerable. I am changing Doctor.

The finest Endo on the west coast or possibly the nation. Very well informed and educated and fast to bring in other minds to sort out the treatment. Very careful with your feelings. This is not medical care, it is medical caring!

Waited over hour and a half and still had a person in front of me. I gave up now looking for a new Doctor.

Dr. Teresi literally saved my life. Yes, you can expect to wait, but that's because she spends as much time as needed with each person she sees. Dr. Teresi doesn't just treat a disease, she cares about her patients. She's not only brilliant but kind and sympathetic. She is, quite simply, the very best.
