Following Medical school Dr.Wexler completed his 5 years of General Surgical training at the University of Massachusetts followed by a 2 year Plastic Surgical fellowship at UCLA.
Currently he serves as Regional Surgical Director of Craniofacial Services for Southern California Kaiser Permanente, Chief of Plastic Surgery at Kaiser West Los Angeles and Clinical Professor of Surgery at USC.
Dr Wexler served as the President of the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons and served 3 years as a member of the Board of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons . He is a senior board examiner for the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He has served six years as Chairman of Surgical Advisory Board for Operation Smile .
Since 1993 Dr. Wexler has lead Operation Smile Surgical Missions to Kenya, The Philippines, Ecuador, …Brazil, Vietnam and India ,Cambodia, Morocco, Bolivia, and Honduras providing free medical care to hundreds of children with cleft lips and palates and other facial deformities
