Dr. Angela Kay Maggard, MD

I wouldn’t recommend her whatsoever

Dr Maggard is a very caring person. I have been a long time patient. She is a very popular Physician and one often has to wait a long time for their appointment because she delivers babies and they do not have a set schedule. But to me it is worth the wait.

I have been a patient of Dr. Maggards for years. She has delivered 3 of my children. She has went beyond what was required of her to help me. I actually started seeing her when I began having complications with my pregnancy and couldn't get any help from the Dr. I was seeing at the time. My aunt had been a patient of Dr. Maggards and called her to see if there was anything she could do. She told me to come straight in. By the time I got there she had set it up for me to go to Lexington. She has always been kind to me and done everything in her power to make sure I was healthy and comfortable, as well as my baby. She's the type of Dr you feel comfortable enough to talk to her about anything. She makes the visit personal which is very rare these days. It does take some time to get an appointment and sometimes the wait can be awhile in the office. It is well worth it though. Good Doctors are hard to find anymore.

Every single time I go to see her, I'm left sitting in the room naked for anywhere from 1 hr to 1:45 minutes. Even if I get an early morning appointment and know that she's already in the office. It's just plain ridiculous! I know of others that has said the same. I guess it's okay if you have nothing better to do with your time because they definitely don't value it.

The only downside is the wait time is long sometimes. It can be either 10 minutes or 1 hour. But that's only because many people go to her. She is super nice and helps you with anything you need. She truly cares about her patients.

The best! Dr. Maggard has delivered 5 of my children and I would trust no other!

If you care about your health please skip this doctor. The waiting room is standing room only at 9:30 AM. How do you get so behind so early in the day. You see several office/nurse type women who evaluate your problems to see if you actually need to see the doctor. Then you usually have an ultrasound whether you need it or not. The first year she gave me one and also did one on my daughter her first trip. She gave both of us different reason for this test.This year on my annual exam I had some problems relating to post menopause. I understood the need for an ultrasound. It showed blood in my womb. I asked at least twice for a pelvic examine because I was almost certain I had an infection. But to make a long story shorter, she refused to do the exam and told me I didn't have an infection and wanted to give me estrogen cream. Then she scheduled an endometrial biopsy.I left and got a new doctor. This doctor is still trying to clear up the very yeast infection I have before doing anything… more.

She was so mean & rude to me on my first visit i cried & from that day on i rescheduled with Dr.S she was awesome i love Dr. S. but Dr. Maggard is a heartless uncaring Doctor.

I dont think this doctor has a clue. My problem only got worse after seeing her. Then I found out she completely missed my diagnosis.

I have used this doctor with 2 previous pregnancies and this third time has been a nightmare. I am terribly disappointed. I have saw the actual doctor about 3 times during the past 6 months and I feel as if I have not been valued as a patient. Her visits consist of seeing other staff members and speaking to her for one or two minutes during the visit.
