Very Happy with Surgery Excellent Job….

My 23 year old daughter felt an urgency to pee all the time beginning a couple of months ago. She went to 4 doctors who didn't treat her correctly and/or chalked it up to her anxiety (Dr. Anne Hardart -- avoid her at all costs if you are a young woman. Such a bad experience). She finally got to Dr. Kumar who took her seriously and immediately began working thoughtfully on the problem. Because Dr. Kumar did not see an obvious physical reason for the problem, she mentioned a couple of times to watch for neurological symptoms such as tingling. My daughter worried about this so Dr. Kumar ordered an MRI of the brain and spine to rule out MS or other neuro issues. The MRI came back and showed that my daughter has a brain tumor. She will have it removed and hopefully make a full recovery. It is not clear whether the urgency issue is related to the tumor (all of the surgeons and neurologists we have consulted think it is not), but her urgency symptoms have started to improve a bit on the past… few days. It may be the medication that Dr. Kumar prescribed or perhaps the anti-seizure meds she is taking to prepare for her surgery. In either case, Dr. Kumar may have saved my daughter's life because of her medical and soft skills. She listened to her patient, believed what she said, took her mental health seriously, and trusted her own instincts. She checks in with us everyday and spends time hearing about the appointments we had and the choices we have had to make. We continue to discuss the the urgency issue and the plan for after surgery, but she also gives advice when needed, and lends a supportive ear. She's the absolute best and a true lifesaver!

I never usually write reviews but my experience with Dr Kumar at Women’s Urology New York was so exceptional & for such an embarrassing issue that I wanted to share with other women in similar situations. I have lived & suffered with urinary incontinence for years following the vaginal births of my 3 children. Whenever I’d sneeze, do sit ups or even run I’d fear leaking - it is a humiliating yet rarely discussed and widely experienced issue. I, like so many others, just suffered in silence and shame until a friend recommended I see Dr. Kumar. I made an appointment and was so nervous but Dr Kumar & her staff put me completely at ease. Her office is modern, stylish & spotless and her staff were so friendly, professional and discrete that I felt comfortable straight away. The procedure that Dr Kumar recommended for my particular issue (stress incontinence) is called Viveve, which is a radio frequency device that is applied to the vaginal wall to help build strong collagen in the walls… to restore tone and elasticity. Initially it felt like a routine pelvic exam (stirrups, cold gel, insertion) but after that the procedure itself was completely pain free. Dr Kumar was incredible professional, calm and reassuring throughout that I never had to worry or feel embarrassed. The most incredible thing was zero pain, absolutely none at all and I’ve done excruciating laser hair removal before so this was a breeze. There is also no down time which I found amazing so I could go straight back to work afterwards. Apparently it will take a month to see if the collagen renewal has worked to prevent leakages but having read a lot about this procedure and talking extensively to Dr Kumar about my various different options prior to the procedure, I’m extremely hopeful. For such a sensitive medical procedure (both physically and emotionally) Dr Kumar and all the women at Women’s Urology New York put me completely at ease and best of all the procedure itself was totally pain free with zero downtime. I’d recommend anyone with female urology issues go see Dr Kumar and don’t suffer silently any longer.

Dr Kumar is a one in a million. She is incredible caring, honest, thorough and patient. She took her time to explain me all the medical options that are available for my specific problem, as well as the pros and cons for each procedure. Her staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I also love the fact, that she is only seeing female patients at her practice as this made me somehow feel more at ease. i will be back!

Angelish Kumar is everything one wishes all Drs. were. She is kind and gentle. She is polite and explains what she is doing. Her office is inviting and even her secretary reflects the comfort of the office.I can't think of ever seeing another Dr. and thank my research to have found this marvelous Dr.I have recommended her to my friends if they need a urologist (which is hard to find).
