Dr. Anthony G. Wydan, MD

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Dr. Anthony Wydan. He was condescending and dismissive from the beginning—cutting me off repeatedly and showing little interest in listening to my concerns. He also provided inaccurate information about how medications can cause or contribute to anxiety, which I later confirmed was incorrect through both a pharmacist and another doctor. When I brought up my personal experiences with certain medications, he was dismissive and invalidated what I shared. On top of that, he claimed he had called me prior to the appointment from a blocked number but didn’t leave a voicemail, and then grilled me in person about why I hadn’t answered. For the record, my carrier blocks anonymous calls by default—something many patients deal with. Instead of understanding that, he took an accusatory tone that was unnecessary and unprofessional. The entire visit felt rushed, impersonal, and judgmental. I left feeling unheard and misinformed. I would not… recommend Dr. Wydan to anyone who expects respectful, collaborative care.

Just received a tearful phone call from my wife after an appointment with Anthony (can't bring myself to call him Doctor). He refused to listen to her, was condescending, rude and offensive, and refused to do anything to help her because he's "not a pill pusher" even though all she was asking for was help managing her blood sugar.

Dr. Wydan is a kind and caring professional who takes the time to listen to you which is rare in this day and age. He does speak about some unpleasant topics that are not what you want to hear (like the need to lose weight, and to get testing done) but that is because he is a doctor and he’s doing his job. I really dislike going to the doctor due to my anxiety but he makes it bearable by talking to you like a friend would, and making you comfortable.

He CALLS THE POLICEON BLACK PATIENTS WHO DON'T APPROVE OF HIS TREATMENT TOWARDS THEM! Always an arrogant, demeaning & condescending individual, I avoided seeing him whenever possible, but since he's the only 1 left @ the practice, I've had little choice. Yesterday, on 01/17/24., I went, seeking refills on my life-sustaining prescriptions, referrals for upcoming appointments & procedures, and advice on my physical & mental well-being. Despite providing explicit, sometimes intimate personal details about my difficulties of the past year, including MANY personal losses, wydan insisted on berating me for missing appointments, admonished me about how many were on record @ the front desk, and calling me a liar when i told him how, in the wake of my father's recent demise i urgently requested to see him over concerns about my mental & physical health, only to be told that he was sick, had no definitive return date, and that he would be informed but it'd probably be better for me to seek… assistance elsewhere! Knowing what was @ stake I tried to maintain my composure, but when he jumped in my face, began SCREAMING & pointing his finger within a millimeter from my nose, and i requested that hebe a little more courteous and empathetic, he yelled for me to, "get the hell out of his office, and go find another doctor!" When I requested a refund of my copay, he enthusiastically called the ambler police on me! The possible implications of weaponizing police against a black male was not lost on him, as he gleefully stated, "They're coming, so you'd better get out of here!" I went to my vehicle, as he opened his office door, again teased that the cops were coming, then locked the door to add the effect of a dangerous situation. Three police cruisers surrounded me, I was ID'd & interrogated, while I explained what occurred and expressed a desire to survive this ignominious debacle, to see my wife & 3 small boys again. Patrons & shop owners throughout the plaza gathered @ doors & windows, watching as I eventually broke down over the humility of being a 54 year old, accomplished, accredited schoolteacher, being treated in a manner strictly over my racial & ethnic demographics. In 1 last smug act of "exercising his power over others", wydan walked out, hands on hips, smirked, and stated: "You are not allowed to come here ever again, and I'm going to report your behavior to Jefferson health partners!" To him, this was his God-given duty to put minorities in their place, and the ambler police backed him stating, "We know you already said you were done with this place, but that's how rules work out here; since he said it, you can't come out this was anymore!" The message I received was that they were talking about Ambler PERIOD, not just the office! Nonetheless I'm just grateful to be alive currently, though I have my work cut out for me, recouping my medical losses in the limited time @ my disposal. Jefferson health partners should be ashamed for having such a racist scumbag associated with them!

Had a cough that would not go away and had proof of three negative covid tests yet was refused an office visit and told to go to urgent care. On another occasion was having an allergic reaction and called for a prescription to be called in- that request was denied and I again was told to go to urgent care. He was coming in at 4 in the afternoon and had no available appointments. I will be looking for another provider who has time to see patients.

I agree with everyone else-he's a doctor who pays no attention or care towards you. I went in for an annual physical, and I had a quick question after the exam. He didn't even let me ask the question because he stated I was only there for a physical and if I had any questions I'd have to set up another special appointment.

I have been to many doctors but Dr.Wydan made me feel uneasy at my first visit. His demeanor is one that makes you feel like you're just another claim for him to submit and doesn't show that he really cares about you. He has ZERO bedside manners and non-caring and his staff is just as bad. It starts from the top. I am not looking for a bestie but just would like to feel valued as a patient. There are still good doctors out there that cares .... I will never go back to him.

Staff is rude and doctor is very curt and condescending. Warning if you want a helpful doctor don't go to him.

Dr. Wydan needs to spend more time looking at his patients and not his computer. His staff is rude and cocky and talks down to you. Read the other patients reviews. Do yourselves a favor, look around there's better caring Dr's and staff out there.

He is a wonderful and caring doctor. The negative reviews seem to be written about when the other doctor in the practice was "removed".
