My wife was referred to Dr. Mitra early in pregnancy for an incompetent cervix. It would be an understatement to say how grateful we both are to have been under his care. He performed an abdominal cerclage on my wife at 18 weeks gestation. We opted not to do the surgery at 12 weeks hoping everything would progress without complications. When her cervix began to shorten we knew we had a decision to make. A vaginal cerclage was not an option despite another physicians recommendation. Dr. Mitra explained the risks and benefits at length and performed the surgery 2 days later. Everything went great. He is a very humble, very kind man with a genuine concerns for those he cares for ( a quality hard to find in many physicians these days). Dr. Mitra gave my wife his personal cell phone number and told her to call with any questions or concerns, which she did on several occasions. He answered the phone every time. We could not be happier with the care he provided. We are not out of the woods… yet but feel like we are well on our way thanks to Dr. Mitra. Being in the healthcare profession myself I have spent a great deal of time working with physicians and can say honestly and without hesitation that our experience with Dr. Mitra has been nothing short of exceptional.
