Dr. Barry Neil Wasserman, MD

I went to Dr. Wasserman right before the pandemic. I met in his old office for my first visit and had my surgery in the new office in Feb. 2020. The transition to the new office was bumpy for him and his staff (normal). They were quite comical not knowing rooms or where to be. The surgery went great and follow up visit(s) were great. The pandemic came and I have been to the office several times since my surgery. The staff was amazing to get me in when I had a bump on my eyelid that I found concerning. The follow up visit was good, eyelash removed, all good. My visits with Barry however, not so smooth. My first annual visit - I left after waiting for an hour in the waiting room. I believe the staff mentioned when I checked in that there was an emergency or something that pushed him behind for the day and apologies. Someone from the office a day or so later called to apologize and we rescheduled. I missed the next appointment. Today was to be my first visit with Barry since my… failed 1 year follow up appointment. I was in the room for awhile (I'm reading and enjoying my book) and he popped his head around the corner saying hello and be there shortly. When I looked at my watch I realized that I had been in the room for half an hour and hadn't seen anyone since the tech. I understand everyone's time is valuable but he is clearly overbooked and his patients suffer. I am not sure if that is him or office manager handling scheduling, but I recommend being mindful of patients time. Unfortunately (fortunately?) as I was asking for my co-pay to be returned, he had arrived for our appointment to find me gone.

I would highly recommend Dr. Wasserman! I was previously told by other doctors that there was no help to correct my son's vision. I went to Dr. Wasserman and as my son says now, his procedure has been life altering. He can confidently look people in the eye after 16 years!!!! My mother took him for his consultation and my son cam home saying this guy is the best and he was so excited and very comfortable with him. It shocked me. The day of the surgery I met Dr. Wasserman and my son was right, he is the best, not to mention the best bedside manner I have ever seen in a Doctor. Anyone who gets annoyed and gives less of a review for waiting for this doctor, must not appreciate that some things are definitely worth waiting for. My son's vision was definitely worth it!!

Dr is excellent but we waited 90 min and my daughter is 16 months old. Unacceptable wait time.

Yes you will have to wait in the office for your visit .If you want a personal ,caring ,honest doctor then have the patience. He is very detailed and will explain anything you need to know, and explain as you can understand it.

Unprofessional attitude and behavior by the receptionist which was never expected.

took my 2yr old to the office . Our appointment was for 10:10am and we didn't leave until after 12pm... 2 hrs for a toddler appointment of any kind is nuts. The initial wait was 55mins to see a Dr. That never introduced hersself to me... she put drops in my kids eye and told us to go wait ANOTHER 30 mins for the drops to work. After another 55 mins we were done. The entire building smelt horrible the ladies room was disgusting and you would think for a building that has a pedictric doctorof any kind would have a child changing station in the bathroom. I will not be going back for a follow up visit

His reviewers are seriously quoting oscar wilde? He clearly writes these things himself. He is selling old technology at a premium price. Do your research and make sure you understand he does not perform bladeless lasik.
