Dr. Erickson, I'm not sure if you remember me? you are the best dr. I have ever had, I constantly check to see if you are back in the portland area. I hope you are doing great. This Dr is absolutely the best! I hope you are doing great young man! Ian a malone.

Referred by KP for a back injury, L5/S1 ruptured, myelin sheath damage, strenosis, extreme pain. I received gabapentin although I made it clear that I had a prior adverse reaction to this medication. Also prescribed meloxicam...(arthritis medication). There is no surgical cure for my condition presently. I have been told by this by the head of neuro-surgery at the largest hospital in the state. Yet this embarrassment to the medical profession cannot wrap his head around the fact that pain is real, can be constant and deserves attention not an ignorant response of we will get you started with treatment and before anything, before looking at my chart I hear the words "I don't prescribe controlled substances to treat pain. Why was I sent to this group or specific doctor for treatment of pain? I asked to get into pain management! That was my specific request. Kaiser Permanente please drop this group from your providers. At the very least remove this one doctor from your list of eligible… providers. The delay in treatment. The pain I've been forced to deal with as a result of being scheduled with this doctor is unforgiveable. The Dept of Regulatory Agencies and Joint Commission will both be consulted concerning this poor poor attempt at patient care. Enjoy explaining yourself D?r? Benjamin J Erickson.

Dr. Erickson is a wonderful doctor. He was my PCP at Kaiser Gateway but has since left. He's attentive, yet casual and doesn't treat you like an idiot. Is very personable, caring about your health concerns. He actually seems to enjoy problem solving and finding the root cause of your ailments, not just treating the symptoms. I will truly miss him being my general practitioner.

I won't go into details, but I am not an easy patient. Which is why I am taking the time to write: Dr Erickson is down to earth, patient, and caring. He listens to me, spends time with me...I feel that I have been heard after an appt. He gets back to me in person. Also, he is not easily excited...pretty steady on his feet, I get the sense that he wants to see the big picture before he says anything. I think I really need a certain procedure, but he is not convinced and I respect that he wants all the information and is willing to take the time to get it before making a decision. I highly recommend him.
