Dr. Bethanee Jean Schlosser, MD

She didn't even listen to my concerns; she cut me off and then dismissed my concerns and not important and then continued to brag about herself and how she doesn't suffer from the ailments that I do. She offered no treatment and told me that I should get over it. Then she demanded to see my back side for no reason. Later I saw a kind and knowledgeable derm that told me that they can bill more for viewing private areas.

Dr. Schlosser is a caring physician who exudes competence. She also has a sense of humor, which is a nice plus.

I don’t like writing negative reviews. However, I did not realize how bad Dr. Schlosser and her dermatology team were until I went to a new dermatologist, and want to ensure that other people don’t experience the same level of disrespect that I did on three separate occasions. 1. The first issue I had was from Dr. Schlosser’s nurse, when she berated me for opting out of a full body exam with a man present in the room, as he was training. This was my choice and I told her nurse that I felt uncomfortable, but she threatened that it would take an extra 30 minutes of me waiting in the room to see the doctor. 2. I had an irregular mole that the doctor biopsied. I did not hear anything following the procedure, so two weeks later, I called the office to check on the results. I was put in touch with her nurse, who said “I have the results here, but need to have Dr. Schlosser tell you herself.” As much as I pleaded, thinking it was skin cancer, the nurse would not give me any information… on the results or timeframe of when I could expect to hear from the doctor. It wasn’t until I escalated the issue to the Head Nurse that I heard back from the doctor 3. This was my final straw. Thus far, I had given passes as the doctor was not responsible for my first or second bad experience. I had a full body exam appointment scheduled. After arriving 15 minutes early, and waiting an additional 10 minutes after my scheduled appointment, I was brought into the room where the nurse, Joy, asked if I was in the office for an acne check. I corrected her that it was for a mole exam and she said OK and continued with questions. She was extremely cold and short with me, so I tried to make small talk and compliment her nails. I waited in a freezing cold room for 30 minutes in a slim robe (she told me to take everything off for the full body exam), at which point another nurse came in and said that I had made the appointment for acne and that the doctor could not see me. Even though I was there and had already waited, the doctor refused to see me. I explained that there might have been a mistake, and I had made the meeting for skin exam. When this nurse was adamant that the doctor could not see me, I told the nurse my feelings that the situation was unprofessional and that I was disappointed that Dr. Schlosser could not come in and tell me herself. The nurse left and moments later Dr. Schlosser came into the room and YELLED at me for calling her unprofessional. She had clearly been told something out of context, and instead of giving me the benefit of the doubt, she was defensive right away and set me into tears. I was in a vulnerable state, being in a thin robe and having waited more than 1 hour minutes at this point. I left this experience feeling upset and disappointed. I had always given Dr. Schlosser the benefit of the doubt, despite the bad reviews and my poor experiences from her team. Please save yourself the time and anguish and seek out another doctor and practice.

Have sent her once in 3 years of annual visits. First one in 2016 I only was rescheduled once. The second year, rescheduled again, showed up for rescheduled morning appt and she was running 1.5 hours last. She had no appts for 4 months so rescheduled with a fellow. The third I was rescheduled twice. After the second cancellation. she didn’t have another appt for 5 months. For yearly skin cancer checks, that didn’t work. I rescheduled with another doctor in her office and will not see her again. She was kind but my time is important also and can’t be rescheduled over and over and then forced to wait months only to probably be rescheduled again.

Could not get in to see Dr. Schlosser for an emergent bleeding dry skin condition, although she did my skin checks for years amd was my dermatologist. Thank goodness! The doctor I did see who helped my season-change dry skin found 1) a melanoma and 2) a basal cell cancer. I had asked Dr. Schlosser 2 years in a row about the dry spot which turned out to be basal cell when biopsied. She told me dry skin and moved right on.

I waited a while to get in and be seen and was not disappointed. She was professional, thoughtful in her communication style and her bedside manner - was spot on. She was all business with a touch of personality. I appreciated her attention to my questions and concerns. I never once felt she was rude, or unprofessional. Just a very busy professional who knows her stuff. I would and have highly recommended her.

I waited several months until I got her appointment as I suffer for LS was great discomfort she was quick talking with the other doctor assistant all the time and dictating to the nurse who was typing constantly what she was dictating her taking pictures and measurements and all while I was laying on her office bed in gynecological position making me sign lots of forms to authorize her to study me, telling me horrible outcomes that I am still shocked , worse experience I don"t worst experience anybody !

Office staff was rude and inefficient. They were terrible with follow-up.

I wait and wait weeks for her to call me back about important tests. Not to mention I waited over an hour when I had an appoint to see her . I have been to many doctors that's recommend same treatment as her . A waste of time

Lichen sclerosis sucks, and not many doctors know much about it. Dr. Schlosser does. It's true and annoying that it takes 4-5 months to get an appointment, since the clinic is only one day a week and there aren't many options for people with LS, but she's only one doctor, so I don't consider this a personal flaw, just a drawback to trying to get to see her. She's probably not the most cuddly of doctors, but I'm not looking for cuddly when I'm in a hospital gown, I'm looking for medical help. I'd also say that it helps to be a knowledgeable patient, because she gives amazing detail while dictating her description and you can learn a lot about your condition, and she's happy to answer questions; I have other diseases that overlap and she was breathtakingly clear and detailed about how to tell the difference.
