Dr. Bindubal K Balan, MD

Sadly, I did not have the best experience with Dr. Balan. I had never been to a specialist for my Hashimotos so I was excited to get new perspective, but she barely asked any questions about my background or experience and simply decided to increase my thyroid medication despite my levels being normal. Then, once the medicine set in and I began experiencing bad side effects like panic attacks, she simply said to get my blood tested but keep taking the medicine. When the levels showed as still "normal", she said to continue the dose despite my awful symptoms. Meanwhile my primary doctor immediately told me to lower them again after which I began to feel better, and said she was shocked by Dr. Balan's decisions as she had recommended me to her. I still cannot believe a specialist would not only do that but also ignore my symptoms and pleas for help after it seemed to not be working. I never leave reviews but felt compelled to warn others if they were in similar situations.

Great doctor. Very knowledgeable and shows love and concern for her patients.

Dr. Balan is an excellent Doctor she takes time to listen to her patients.

Dr Balan always takes her time with you and goes the extra mile to make sure that you have the best health possible. She’s very knowledgeable and capable. Her staff is also very helpful. I recommend her highly.

Dr. Balan has my diabetes under control after just one visit. She gave me much hope after 20+ years of fumbling around with my diabetes. I highly recommend her.

I have confidence in Dr. Balan but her OFFICE STAFF is terrible. Appointments are changed but not in their computer; they are rude and visit with one another while patients are waiting; they are very unprofessional compared to other practices in Greensboro. This does not reflect well on Dr. Balan.

When I became pregnant Dr. Balan was great to work with managing my diabetes. During pregnancy we had a few bumps concerning my insulin regime but once we talked she listened and we were back on the same page. I delivered a happy healthy baby boy with a complication free pregnancy. My A1C dropped from 7.9 to 6.0. Her office staff can be very rude but I can tolerate them.

She told me to lose weight. She needs to take her own advice!

Dr. Balan appears very competent and takes time with her patients. However, her office staff is not at all friendly; they ignore a patient trying to check out. General unpleasant office staff.

I was very disappointed to learn that after being under Dr. Balans care for my hypothyroidism, that she only does a generalized test for TSH levels and not a comprehensive blood testing. I have symptoms of being over medicated and she refused to do more testing and refused to lessen my medication. She does not excel in individual diagnosis.
