Dr Brad Alan Yentzer

My primary purpose was to get a cancer screening skin scan. My secondary purpose was to have the doctor examine contact dermatitis for which he prescribed a corticosteroid. Staff was friendly, appointment was on time and the facility was pleasing and clean. Dr. Yenzer, however,, seemed arrogant, aloof and uncaring. His examination was cursory at best. He did not look at the front of my body at all as he did not instruct me to remove the hospital gown. He pronounced my skin to be in good shape after an exam that couldn't have taken 5 minutes. I struggled with whether or not I should write a negative review -- I have never done this for an appointment that I have had with a practitioner. I also struggled with whether or not I should make an appointment with another practitioner as I felt that his examination was perfunctory, cursory and incomplete. I feared that if I saw another practitioner the insurance company would not cover the second appointment. I ended up seeing another… practitioner who biopsied a lesion which the pathology lab found to be a melanoma. At a subsequent appointment it was surgically removed. I will not be going back

Have been seeing him for years. He is very knowledgable, is open to questions and pushback, and most importantly, he doesn't cut off everything he sees on your skin. I trust his judgement and appreciate the time he takes to explain issues.

I have been to dermatologists for decades having been born with the unlucky trilogy of eczema, cystic acne and psoriasis. I have been to many as I have moved multiple times for family growing up and now multiple promotions at work have had me move from city to city. I am thankfully only temporarily in Cortland, NY, as the number of dermatologists here is scant, but this doctor should not even be one to consider (IMHO) as he absolutely did not listen to what my concerns were, pretty much spent less than 3 minutes (seriously!!) with me to tell me his “expert opinion” which was formed basically before he ever saw me (from reading my chart history I guess), and told me I could take a bunch of expensive allergy tests or leave. I actually have filed a complaint with the state medical board as his refusal to review my presenting complaint caused me months of difficulties which thankfully were finally addressed by a real dermatologist in Syracuse (who I highly recommend!) Dr Yentzer is… arrogant and disinterested in helping his patients, which flies in the face of what good doctors and good medical care should be. His complete lack of professionalism turned me off of seeing anyone in the Cuyuga Medical system as one wonders how they would allow a doctor like this to be in their fold if he seems to have a fairly strong negative reputation among patients for being less than magnanimous with his patients. I hope others are able to avoid him at all costs as I wish I had done more homework on who he is before agreeing to see him for my issues. Hard lesson learned for me in a giant waste of time off from work, time lost to being miserable with my condition he refused to address, and of course the money I wasted and my insurance company wasted on seeing him.

Never have I encountered a physiatrist of any specialty who was so horrible, he had no interest in listening and talked over me with his opinions, not helpful. Not caring.

Nice at first, but was ultimately unwilling to pursue an unconventional treatment option (which posed little no serious side effects) without first requiring that I jump through a number of unnecessary hoops. When I confronted him about this and demanded better answers, he terminated me as a patient.

I chose to see Dr. Yentzer based on his expertise in treating acne and his commendation for compassionate care. During my appointment, Dr. Yentzer was argumentative, condescending, and used foul language. I left the office in tears.

I don't know what to say. I make an appointment cuz I have a skin problem. Talk with Dr Yentzer, he tells me what to do, and I leave the office feeling good. He is a very pleasant, very professional, person and I am glad I found him.
