Dr. Carlos Kamiya Matsuoka, MD

My wife was in MD Anderson hospital for 11 days prior to her passing. On the 4th day I was advised that she would succumb to her illness and that there was nothing that could save her life. As devastating as the news was to comprehend nothing could have prepared me for the shocking chain of events that would unfold over the next 4 days. 7 days before my wife’s death and in what would prove to be the cruelest, most unethical and disrespectful examination I’ve ever witnessed, Dr. Matsuoka entered our room unannounced and proceeded to order a series of painful test on my wife. When I questioned his intentions, he looked and me and said “hopefully I can save her life”! Within 24 hours of the test this same doctor returned to our room and confidently announced that my wife had an infection that could be treated with a course of antibiotics and she would survive. For a brief period of time I celebrated with my family on what would turn out to be a cruel false hope given by a doctor… that was either A) incredible incompetent and looking for an insurance payout or B) an incredible ignorant doctor that took great pleasure in torturing grieving family member with his Jesus complex.
