Dr. Cassandra Lynn Brewster, MD

Absolutely terrible provider. It is beyond me how someone so incompetent can practice medicine. Thank god she only does family medicine and not something more high risk. If you value your life and health, go somewhere else.

I am very displeased by the “care” that was provided to me by Dr. Cassandra Brewster. I scheduled a visit to see Dr. Brewster for an assessment of symptoms that I’d been experiencing which were indisputably linked to yeast/candida. I asked, out of my own curiosity, whether it could be possible that I had invasive candidiasis. I was born with thrush and easily contracted fungal infections as a child, and also into adulthood. At the age of 14, I had a ringworm infection of the scalp that caused permanent hair loss and have had reoccurring infections over the past 14 years (I am now 28) – leading me to wear wigs. More recently, my arm has been breaking out in what was diagnosed as hives and I’ve had back-to-back vaginal yeast infections. In addition to that, I’ve had white lesions on my inner cheeks and a white-coated tongue for as long as I can remember (even after cutting out sugar, removing yeast from my diet entirely and taking a strong probiotic). Dr. Brewster explained that if I… had invasive candidiasis, I’d be on a hospital bed. Okay, sure. I didn’t go to medical school. Makes sense to me. I did not argue with her there. I asked what could be causing the hives, but she took my inquiring about the root cause as me being suspicious of the diagnosis itself. Yeast was on the list of of potential causes that I was given by my DERMATOLOGIST, so I wasn’t drawing connections out of nowhere. I wanted to get a general assessment of what might be going with my body, so I could see the right specialist. INSTEAD, I was gaslit to believe that I might be struggling with an eating disorder. The conversation suddenly shifted away from my concerns to my BMI. My own mother is 4’11 and 100 lbs (This is someone who has borne children. I have not). Before she became pregnant with me, she weighed less than 100 lbs. I come from a very petite family and we have small frames. I did lose weight from my last visit with Dr. Brewster, and I’m certain that it’s due to a bone broth cleanse that I recently completed in an effort to naturally re-balance my gut. The weight loss is temporary and I’m sure that I will return to my normal weight in a matter of weeks. She asked about my periods (always regular and lasting about 5-7 days), my lifestyle (low tress, mostly sedentary with minimal to no exercise… I could actually stand to move my body more) and my caloric intake. I have never been the type of woman to count calories…. EVER. So, I did not have answer for that. All I know is that I eat decent sized portions each day that are appropriate for my body type and leave me feeling fueled. She didn’t even both to observe my muscle mass, which is usually emblematic of an ED. I’ve retained my muscle mass and do not have the appearance at all of someone with an ED. I suspect (emphasis on suspect), that Dr. Brewster is the type of medical professional who can’t stand to be challenged. I was not trying to usurp her authority as a physician, but at the end of the day this is MY body. If I’m PAYING an insurance company to see you, I EXPECT to be listened to and taken seriously. There’s also the fact that I’m young, highly educated and black. But I won’t get into that. Regardless of whether or not she had good or bad intentions in shifting the focus of my visit, I left feeling discouraged and disappointed. I realize that this scenario probably points to a larger issue which is that most Western, medical doctors, deny the link of what you consume and its effect on disease. What we have is a sick-care system. In our culture, science is a religion that must not be questioned. Me simply asking questions proved to be an issue, and I was made to feel as though I shouldn’t be making assumptions (based on factual information) because I wasn’t a doctor. I call B.S. Anyway, I removed her as my PCP AS SOON as I returned home. I do not recommend this physician.

Always sufficient, easy to get in and out and they are thorough in treatment.

Really, very, terrible dr. Came to her for anti depressants. Wrote me a scrip for 2 months worth of meds. Went to refill my 3rd month of meds, and Walgreens informed me that my dr decided to deny my request for a refil. How can you put a patient on an antidepressant and then refuse to refil it for them with zero explanation. She has zero regard for her patients well being. I've been her patient since I was probably 11. Within the last few years, my family of 5, now all adults, has slowly stopped going to her because it's fairly obvious she has lost interest in her patients.

Where to begin? I have been treated as nothing more than a dollar sign by not only Dr. Beatty, but her entire staff as well. If there are any concerns, even if I had just walked out and call back, I am told I need to make an appointment to come talk to her (of course there is the office fee). Medications have been called in completely wrong; she is only through in the fact she will try to put you through every test she can get away with, needed or not. Half the time she doesn't even know why you are there and has her own agenda. I have walked out of her office in tears because of the nurses judging my circumstances. This place is a joke!

I couldn't say enough great things about Dr Beatty. I was going through some tough problems and she was so caring and sweet. She not only makes me feel better physically when I see her but also emotionally. One time when I was really upset, she hugged me after my appointment and told me to hang in there because it will get better. I don't know many doctors that take the time to really listen to you anymore. I'm so glad I found Dr Beatty.

Dr Beatty is the best doctor I have ever been to. I have been searching for a doctor who takes their time and really listens to me and my search is over. I have reccomended 2 of my friends to her and they have all had the same experience. I encouraged them to write a review on here because I have no idea what happened with the unhappy people who wrote on this website but obviously no doctor will make them happy. Dr Beatty is professional, curteous, smart, and really cares about me and my entire family. I will never go anywhere else.

Ive maybe had a total of 3 seperate appointments with Dr. Beatty and each time was the worst experience, the only reason I have gone back to her is bc her staff was able to book me in at the last minute when I couldn't go any where else (I guess thats the only +about this place). But everytime i had an appointment with this Dr. she was always rushing, NEVER looked me in the eyes and when I had something personal going on with me she looked at me and said sorry your only here for an ear appointment, if you want to talk about that issue then make another appointment, and I was shocked!!! This was a serious issue and that just told me all she cared about was her time and money and not about the patients health! And to top everything thing off my husband had toget a physical done and she would not let me come back with him!! Lets just say if your looking for a rude non caring Dr. this is the dr. your looking for!

OUTSTANDING DOCTOR. my wife has had some very serious health issues and Dr Beatty has helped her through all of them. She is kind, incredibly caring and an excellent doctor. I wouldn`t take my wife or myself anywhere else

My experience with Dr. Beatty has always been good and positive, I never have trouble getting an appointment. Dr. Beatty does not rush through my appointments, listens to my concerns and is very helpful and understanding. Always courtious and professional, have not had a bad experence with she or the staff at the office.
