Dr. Claude Fortin, MD

Dr Fortin is a caring and intelligent doctor who provides pragmatic advise and explanations. See him is a treat. I will warn you his current staff is not on the ball and it is tough to get appointments and prescription refillls.

Dr, Fortin saw me initially for the possibility of Parkinson's Disease suggested by the Disabled American Veterans National Service Officer. Dr. Fortin fully ruled out that I have Parkinson's Disease, but allowed that I do have Paraparkinsonism based on numerous clinical records in my history and at present. He determined that I am prediabetic, have severe peripheral neuropathy, have Paraparkinsonism, and have other symptoms I hadn't seen documented before. This has been wonderfully helpful in my submissions of my Veteran's Affairs Disability Claims paperwork and supporting documents as he considered the years of ionizing radiation I was exposed to on active duty as well as Agent Orange exposure while flying my third combat missions tour at DaNang Air Base, Vietnam. for almost all the last year of the war. He also determined I needed Testosterone, has got that at proper level for me, and it's made a great difference in several positive ways.

I don’t usually write reviews but felt strongly enough about my experience to write one today. My appointment went well. He seemed competent enough to handle my needs. On the follow up, his staff couldn’t get me in even though he stated during our appointment that he would work me in within days of receiving my labs. His staff was rude and unaccommodating. They even stated that **he didn’t know what he was talking about.** Not something I’m sure he’d want his staff telling his patients. Rather than go back and forth with the incredibly rude woman on the phone, I asked to have him call me back directly. I thought he would be interested to know how his staff treats his patients and stand by his promise to get me in in the next few days. He never called me back. When I called to follow up, his staff said they gave him my message. My guess is either they didn’t give him the message or he simply doesn’t care. In any event, if this is how his office handles the small issues, I… don’t want to know how they handle the big issues. Buyer beware! If it starts off bad, it won’t end well. Very disappointed. I will also make sure the provider who referred me knows not to send patients his way.

He completely misdiagnosed my mother who had a terminal brain disease. He kept telling her it was a reversible condition. She could have known months before her death that she had so little time left, but we only had a few weeks once a competent physician diagnosed her. Go to the Mayo Clinic and see a better doctor instead.

Dr. Fortin has been doing my epidural shots for about 4 years and he's wonderful he even came in a chatted with my 6 year old daughter who was nervous about me having to be in the hospital. I highly recommend him!

He was 30 min late to my first appointment with no apology. Two tests were ordered and the office did not return my call when the tests did not get scheduled. Finally fot the tests scheduled and the day before the doctor cancelled one of the tests? Of course, no one returned my call again or the testing centers call for an explanation. So I guess I will be making two trips to the testing place which is not close to my home and paying childcare twice. I wont be going back to this place.

I was skeptical about seeing him with the reviews here, boy are the wrong!!! He was very friendly. cared about me and my conditions. He took time to listen and asked questions that I never thought of or asked by other doctors. AAA+

I lost 3 hrs sick time waiting for him; he was having a friendly chat on the phone. Spent not more than 5 minutes with me.

Wrong diagnosis and didn't seem to care or apologize. Disgusted with how he handled the situation.

Lack of appropriate testing and lack of diagnosis, caused life--threatening crisis and significant physical damage. Displayed little interest or response to calls during period when symptoms were quickly advancing.
