I was referred to Dr Serrano by my PCP and was very worried seeing a cardiologist for the first time. She was so lovely so kind she put all my fears at rest.
It turned out through the angiogram she performed I had three coronary arteries blocked. She took care of one of them and decided she would do the other two later
A very good decision.
The first time was a breeze and I was amazed at her skill saw and felt practically nothing on my wrist after the procedure.
The second time (two days ago)I believe her skills and perseverance saved me.
One of the arteries was so blocked she had to micro drill.
The second artery was so calcified in her words.. she went in with a balloon nothing she then went in with a balloon with blades nothing, she then went in with a laser and was able to drill through the calcification to allow for a stent.
I was stunned to hear that and in awe of her skill and the technology available today and besides to see nothing and feel no pain at the site of entry.
She is so warm and so reassuring and such a simply authentic person I have a hard time believing any of the negative reviews I have read here. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a skillful interventional cardiologist who is also a compassionate human being.

I was referred by a friend to see this doctor, the first visit I didn’t care about seen any cardiologist since I don’t have any heart issues. I went just for a check up to prove my self I’m feeling great, her assistant is so kind and professional, I wait a little bit, but it was worth it. Doctor was very pleasant and explained to me even though I’ve had not experienced any symptoms she wanted me to go for some test. And surprise for me they called me right away for the results I needed to go for deep study called angiogram. I had an obstruction on one of my heart arteries. Doctor saved my life I’m glad I went to this office and met her.

“I was very pleased with my experience with Doctor Claudia Serrano. It was my first time at This cardiologist and was a world away from previous experiences elsewhere. It was good to be treated with her. When I say the doctor that I was felling so bad she made me feel that I was in safe hands and even made me smile when I left, The doctor wanted to check everything I was wondering why if I only have a chest pain and I was told can be muscle pain, but since she is the specialist I trusted her and I did everything.. then you can believe she is the best. She found the reason I was feeling so bad and treated me . A big thank to this wonderful and kind, caring loving doctor.

I went to Dr.Serrano-Gomez, and I got no personal follow up to tests and one reply to an email I sent her, and the next email was ignored. Was sent for lab work in the hospital, which did not take my insurance:her office should have checked on that before giving me the requisition. I had a test done, where she told me that a Doctor would be present, and there was no Doctor present. I am very surprised that she is at NYU. Hospital. I must agree with the negative reviews that she has been given. She definitely does not care about you as a patient.

My experience with Dr. Serrano-Gomez indicated that she is an incompetent physician that should not be licensed to practice medicine in any state within this country.
She not only failed to inform me that I had tested positive for a heart disease known as “Myocardial Ischemia” but she also neglected to follow-up this test result by not attempting to determine the cause and appropriate treatment for this disease. I discovered this test result when I read the corresponding report which was posted within the NYU-Langone patient portal. I questioned her about this result and she indicated that it was nothing to be concerned about since I was not experiencing any Ischemia type symptoms.
This neglect eventually led to a situation where I had to be transported by ambulance to the nearest hospital after experiencing Ischemia type symptoms (i.e. chest pressure, difficulty breathing and a rapid heartbeat). An emergency “Angiogram” procedure was performed the next day by the hospital assigned cardiologist in an attempt to resolve the problem.
I don’t have any trust or confidence in this physician and have since moved on to a different cardiologist. Her eyebrow raising practices are disturbing and can lead to an untimely death for those unfortunate patients that have to rely on her for providing responsible medical care.
