Dr. Clifford Gladstone, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Gladstone for over 10 years. He is a superb physician, takes time to explain his findings thoroughly and to advise on recommended treatment. When an elderly family member was in crisis, I had him flown to NJ so that he could be seen by this physician because of his excellent diagnostic skills.

My husband was under this Doctor's care after he had 7 stents put in for the "widow" maker. My husband has always been in good shape, a runner and a vegetarian. So after being told he had these blockages, he was very strict about diet and exercise, losing a lot of weight. After a number of stress tests this Dr. told my husband it was ok to go off of Plavix, the blood thinner to prevent blockages. He was told this over the telephone and wasn't warned about risk factors. My husband had a massive heart attack within 4 days of being taken off the medication. It was explained that the body attacks even a small portion of stents that are open to attack by the body's own defense system, known as stent stenosis. This caused a massive heart attack and it is a complete miracle that he survived. Dr Gladstone did not discuss the risks of going off this medication. He spent two minutes with him on the phone. I made several calls to this office during and after the heart attack, this… office never returned our calls. I was very aware from the beginning at how this Dr. spent so little time in his office explaining things. It was almost as though we were wasting his time. I urged my husband to find a new doctor. I highly advice you do your research before dealing with this man.
