Dr. Colton Ladbury, MD

Colton Ladbury, M.D., is an assistant professor of radiation oncology at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte and the Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, where he finds nothing more satisfying than offering cancer patients personalized treatments using advanced technology. He has experience with a diverse array of techniques, including stereotactic radiosurgery, stereotactic body radiation therapy, total body irradiation, total marrow and lymphoid irradiation, and brachytherapy (both intracavitary and interstitial).Dr. Ladbury received his medical degree from the University of Colorado in Aurora, then completed an internship at HealthONE Sky Ridge Medical Center in Lone Tree, Colorado. He pursued a four-year residency in radiation oncology at City of Hope Duarte, where he served as chief resident and was recognized as Graduate Medical Education Trainee of the Year and ARRO Resident Educator of the Year. During residency he gained additional experience in the treatment of …hematologic, gynecologic and genitourinary cancers.A physician-researcher, Dr. Ladbury came aboard City of Hope’s clinical faculty having co-authored 49 peer-reviewed biomedical studies, 32 of them as first author. His investigations encompass image-guided radiotherapy, biologically guided radiotherapy, artificial intelligence applications for treatment planning, and treatments that combine radiation with other modalities such as blood stem cell transplantation, chemotherapy and immunotherapy. His research into the role of radiation prior to CAR T cell therapy for large B cell lymphoma garnered an institutional seed grant from City of Hope.
