Day 3 of RT, "Sharp, Shooting, Flame Pains" made me unable to use my arm. It would function. But, if I moved it the wrong way, or put any pressure on the wrong muscle or nerve, an electric rod of vibrating fire would shock my armpit &/or go down my arm. After treatment at the follow up, I asked why my position was not changed. She said it was "standard of care". Then in my medical records she wrote "She had discomfort during RT which we tried to alleviate via positioning & medication". This contradicts the fact that my position was NOT adjusted in ANY way. Ibeprofen suggested. As a result of RT, I've had Neuropathy, Radiation fibrosis, trigger point, cording, continued pain. At the initial consult, I explained that I am very physically active, do lots of lifting, do fine arts & wanted to prepare for anything that might come up. I was told that I was overly concerned about extremely rare side effects, that I would be able to work normally, but would need to prepare for skin… damage & fatigue. I was very unprepared for losing the use of my arm. I gave the right info & asked the right questions. I feel like the doctor I put my trust in, appeared to listen, but did not.
