Dr. Craig C. Callewart, MD

Hubby's diagnosis was grim. He was walking hunched over forward, something that continued to progress for a whole year. The pain in his back and legs was so excruciating it felt better to just lean forward and walk. We visited a few doctors but I knew we had to find a specialist we felt would be honest and get the job done. After seeing Dr. Calewart my husband is pain free!

I had back surgery three years ago. I felt well for about one year. Now the pain is back, even worse,it wasn't worth it, in the long run.

Since this site is flooded with fake reviews, here an honest ones that you should see before considering surgery: In 2010 Dr. Callewart performed a so called routine surgery on me for spinal stenosis. In pre op Dr. assured my wife and I that I would WALK out of the hospital pain free. 2nd. day after surgery therapist helped me up to walk, I fell to the floor, no feeling in right leg and hip. Callewart never visited my room and his assistant visited once. In a wheel chair I was transported by ambulance to my local hospital for 2 weeks of therapy. 2 weeks turned into 7. Callewart nor his assistant contacted me or my wife while I was in therapy. Released for 8 weeks of out patient therapy. During this time I had 2 office visits for follow ups. Never met with Callewart and his assistant seemed to be unable to answer my questions as to what happened and why I was unable to walk without the aid of a walker. It is now May of 2015. I am unable to work and can only walk short distances with… the aid of a cane. Honestly I was in better shape before the surgery. All and all this episode with Dr. Callewart has put a mental and financial strain on me and my family. I'm positive that Dr. Callewart doesn't really care, My insurance paid him very well for his shoddy work.

My back pain has increased so much after Dr. Callewart's botched surgery, I can no longer sit long enough to even enjoy a meal, or go to a movie. My quality of life has been destroyed. Only 50% of primary spinal surgeries are successful, and success rate is far less for subsequent surgeries (Dr. Callewart will conveniently not mention this). And yet all the reviews are glowing. Want to know why? The negative ones are scrubbed and the comments deleted. My advice: do not get back surgery unless it is absolutely unavoidable. And if you must have it, do it with a more scrupulous and honest doctor than Dr. Callewart.

Please look carefully through the negative reviews to see what happens when your surgery is not successful. The positive reviews are strangely similar.

I'd just like to give Dr. Callewart and the rest of the team a great big thumbs up. From the day I walked into their offices on 9101 N Central Expy #360, Dallas, TX 75231. I felt in expert hands. Having lived the pain for almost 10 years and realizing it was getting worse was scary. Test, explanations and about 45-60 days and then surgery. No more leg and butt spasm's and nerve's radiating and a canal much larger than the 5 centimeters. I just want to say I can't thank you enough. Great Job!
