Dr. Craig Douglas Turner, MD

Dr. Turner has been practicing in Portland since 2000, and joined Urologic Consultants in 2003.

Dr. Turner was initially drawn to urology because of the field?s history of innovation. "It?s provided a unique opportunity to pursue my interest in advancing surgical technology while delivering compassionate care," he says.

When he first came to Portland, laparoscopic urology was not widely practiced. He championed the new surgical approach with enthusiasm and expertise. Doctor Turner was involved with a large number of the early minimally invasive and robotic procedures in the Portland area, quickly becoming a local expert. Over the years he has trained and supervised many other physicians in various minimally invasive and robotic surgeries. He continues pioneering the field developing new techniques and equipment to bring simple solutions to complex problems in the operating room. Dr. Turner has been published in various medical journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine …and was chosen as one of America?s Top Urologists by the Consumers? Research Council of America.

In his free time he thoroughly enjoys spending time with his wife Lisa, and being a "goofy" father to his two daughters, Kate and Jamie. His hobbies include fine woodworking (crafting furniture from different historical periods), skiing, and other outdoor activities.
