The other users comment sounds like he really cares to me. A Dr saying he doesnt have a good feeling about you having a 3rd surgery and turning down money is great.

He used to care, or seemed to anyway, but he turned me away after having agreed to perform a 3rd treatment. Kept saying he didn't "have a good feeling" and when I asked him what changed since he agreed to do it he said "well, whatever."

I went for a free consultation a few weeks ago to inquire about getting an earlobe repair (partial tear from a heavy earring). Had a morning appointment---had to wait about 45 minutes beyond my appointment time before I was able to meet with Dr. Vanderkolk. I was not a happy camper---no apologies or explanations given. After the 5 minute consultation, I was told that his secretary was out of the office on jury duty and I would not be able to schedule an appointment to have the work done until she contacted me. I never was contacted. Finally, today, I reached out to his office and was told that I had to make a deposit (85% of the total cost) in order to schedule an appointment and the deposit is non-refundable. Even if I call tomorrow to cancel and the surgery is scheduled for December-----no refund. I called several other doctors and this is not standard practice for minor surgical procedures. Other offices indicated that you can pay up to the day of the surgery. Needless to… say----I have chosen another doctor. Besides---I got the feeling that they did not want my business any way!!

Did surgery and never saw this man again. He sent a PA who never had a patient before, to remove my stitches - she dug around and still did not get all. This was an all round awful experience.

Dr. Vanderkolk is a professional surgeon, who literally saved my life by doing corrective surgery, which another surgeon botched. Anyone who is looking for a plastic surgeon, I recommend him highly.

My experience with Dr. VanderKolk was and is extremely positive. He is a thoughful, professional and a talented skillful surgeon.

He did my breast reduction. My breast are perfectly sized, minimal scarring, and recovery time was a few days. He was always available for any and all of my questions and concerns. I would refer everyone to him.
