Dr Cyrus E. Taghavi, MD

Fractured my fibula and Dr. Taghavi told me to be much more conservative than I expected (later verified by another doctor). Taghavi sent me home without giving me a satisfying explanation about what was happening in my leg. His advice was vague and at times contradicted itself. At a follow-up it became apparent he had left out parts of what he should have told me. I later saw Dr. Dan Parker in Woodland and had a much better experience. I'll be easing into walking, biking, and swimming 3-4 weeks sooner thanks to Dr. Parker. Also, Taghavi's office gave me a boot provided by a 3rd party company that was out of my insurance network, so it's costing lots of $$. I wish they could have warned me! They were also a bit weird about scheduling and releasing my X-rays after the fact. All around very aggravating dealing with this office on top of frustrating injury.

It has taken me a year to write this post because our visit with Dr Taghavi was that traumatic.. My Son got into a motocross accident and had a severe foot injury where he shattered bones in his foot. We saw Dr Taghavi the next day for a consultation. He examined the CAT scat and my Sons foot and said that this is a horrible injury. He said that he would need to take bones from my Sons hip, Cadaver bone, plates and screws and when my 16 year old Son asked him if he could still possible be a Fire explorer and Firefighter some day Dr Taghavi looked him straight in the face and said " You will NEVER be able to Run again, You will never be able to be a firefighter, he said he should get that thought out of his head". We were devastated and obviously me son was destroyed. What kind of Doctor would do that to an impressionalbe child. We couldn't get out of there fast enough . THANK GOD we found Dr Steven Kang in Orange County who also specializes in foot/ankle injuries. Not only did he… give my Son hope but he fixed him!!! He did place a plate and 5 screws and now he is left with one screw in place after a year.. He is working hard in Physical therapy, yes his foot aches some days but he is able to Run!!! He is going to follow his dream...I am hoping that maybe Dr Taghavi was just having a bad day but I hope he realizes that words can destroy people and not giving someone hope can be devastating to a young person..

I am so lucky to have found Dr. Taghavi. I've seen a few Foot and Ankle docs, and unlike the others, Dr. Taghavi took the time to listen to me, counsel me, and work with me. He is exceptional. Thanks, Dr. T!

I'm so lucky to have found Dr. Taghavi. He has great bedside manner, and he really does care about his patients. Also he fixed me really well!! I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Taghavi.

Dr. Taghavi is an excellent physician. He was able to work me into his clinic schedule right away. His bedside manner is far better than any other surgeon I have encountered. He took the time to explain my injury and management options. He didn't pressure me to go straight to surgery, but rather involved me in the decision process as a consultant. When I did go through with surgery, my results were far better than I expected. He really cares about his patients and is a true healer.

I was blessed that Dr Taghavi was the trauma surgeon at Palomar Hospital the night that I fell and destroyed my heal and ankle. The healing process was long and im still healing. The care I recieved always made me feel comfortable knowing I would walk again. Not as soon as I wanted but when the time is right. I am so greatful and would recommend him to anybody needing orthopedic care. Thanks again, Dr. Taghavi.
