Dr. Daham Sol, PhD

I saw Dr. Suraweera for Domestic Violence and cognitive therapy for weight loss. He was very respectful, easy to talk to, and was patient with me while I worked through several techniques he provided. He helped me make my own decisions and provided me with the tools I need to continue the positive behavior. I often recommend him to my family and friends.

Dr. Suraweera helped my husband and I thought a rough patch in our marriage and helped us recognized that we were not communicating effectively. His reflective communication style has improved our marriage.

I worked with Daham (Dr.S) for about a year following a very ugly divorce. I was severely depressed and addicted to pain medication. After our first meeting, I wasn't sure about him (he won't mind me admitting this), because I wanted to work with a woman. I though a woman would be sensitive to my after-divorce problems and chaos after marriage. What I remember best is him saying "give me 4 weeks to convince you that there is hope for your life". And he did! He turned out to be what I needed. There are no counselor cliches about him, and he was very straight with me. Sometimes, honest to a painful degree. This was so refreshing for me! Perhaps what I gained most is learning the part I played in the destruction of my own marriage. I now see relationships with men, with new eyes. I am so thankful!
