Dr. Damien Grant Billow

I had severe pain in wrist and elbow from a severe trauma. Along with nerve damage. When the medicine for nerve pain that was prescribed was having adverse affects, I asked if their was any other medicine that would do the same, his response was either you take it or you don't. On a follow up appointment, he had me try and touch my shoulder, when I was not able to touch my shoulder (5 weeks post surgery) he pushed my hand against my shoulder. My mother was with me and said My God what are you doing. I sat there in tears. That was my last visit with Dr. Billow. Did I mention I had infection 1 month after first surgery, had to be taken back into surgery and had to go back in for a port in my chest for antibiotics!

Dr. Billow and his taem did a fantastic job repairing a severe break of my elbow and wrist. He is a competent, knowledgeable and caring surgeon. I am healing well and ahead of schedule on my road to full recovery. I am very satisfied with Dr. Billow and his team.

Caused death from not checking medical history of patient. DO NOT USE.

I'm a pro-am atlete. suffered an injury from a crash. After 6 months of healing and conservative management from another physician I still didnt have full rom, and a lot of pain before I saw billow. He fixed it. Now I'm back competing again without pain. his bedside manner is fine, unlike what everyone else is saying. He's succinct and to the point. It's not his job to offer condolencses after a patient leaves his care. He's busy, but he does his job extremely WELL. Rely on your nurse for bedside manner.

No attention to patients medical history. Caused a death from an ankle surgery. DO NOT use this doctor.

Our 64 year old mother had surgery from Dr. Billows and passed away 10 days later. He did not even have the decency to give him condolences to our family. The follow up from the surgery was horrible. I would not recommend him to anyone.

I was admitted to his care and had immediate surgery on my lower leg for a traumatic injury. Dr Billow was very caring and is an excellent surgeon. He explained everything to my satisfaction. After care is continuing, but so far has been great. Would highly recommend.

I feel that Dr. Billow is an excellent surgeon, but has poor bedside manner. He did not explain things clearly to both myself and to my family. I did not get the feeling that he has much compassion so if you are looking for a doctor who will make you feel comfortable and answer all your questions then he is not who you want. With that said, I believe he is an excellent surgeon. I absolutely trust his skills, knowledge and experience in the operating room. Hopefully I will never have to have surgery again, but if I did, I most likely would choose him again. If it wasn't for his poor bedside manner he would be an outstanding doctor.
