Dr. Damien Bassam Mallat, MD

He is more afraid of COVID 19. Anyone with science 101 know a virus can not live outside a host long, some die when light hits it. Anyway I give him a zero stars. Bedsides manners suck. He is quick to get upset when you ask him questions. He lied to me stating he will help me with my problem. once he put the scope up my but and then down my throat, he dumped me and refuse to help me with problem. I still suffer with my problem. He got paid but I didn't get the help I was looking for. They never answer the phones and when you leave a message they don't call you back. The office looks like a 3rd world office. In my book he is just another person who paid to get a degree so he can say I'm a Dr. Zero stars in my book.

12 calls over 2 weeks at different times and no one answers the phone. The answering service will NOT take messages. Sent an online contact request form and still nothing. Find a doctor that will answer the phone.

Zero Stars. Doctor was over 2 hours late to a telehealth appointment and offered no video. I received no warning from scheduling to inform me that I would be waiting. When I called to inquire an hour after our appointment I was told that they did not know how long it would be and offered no apology. The appointment was incredibly rushed. I spent a total of 5 minutes speaking with the doctor, after being on hold, where he tried to end the conversation and stop me from talking multiple times. He did not listen to any of my concerns, would not allow me to ask questions and offered no explanation of symptoms only said that I would be called to schedule a colonoscopy (which may or may not even be necessary). Entirely frustrating, entirely unacceptable, one of the worst experiences I have had with a physician to date.

My husband was suffering from chronic pancreatitis that started because of a bowel blockage. He had no risk factors: alcoholism, diabetes, high triglycerides. God placed Dr Mallet in our path! Finally after having suffered for nearly two years received stent pancreatic stent placement. Dr. Mallat hardly said 4 words to us, “I will fix you.” But oh my goodness, he has! Man of few words...he has done what he said he would do. Added bonus is Medical City Hosptial is top notch! If you want help, just do what Dr Mallat tells you to do...no matter what, do it!

This doctor is not Board certified. I question other certificate's he claims. Read the other reviews, they do not lie.

Awful doctor!!!!! Do not recommend does not Care to do anything extra, cold, and does not care!!...my father your patient of two years Went to you for help and you misdiagnosed with colitis and told him he was fine and gave him pills ...did no care he was suffering and weighted almost 100 pounds! My family just lost him because of An emergency surgery in his stomach /intestines and his Intestines were shot, colon, and small mass were discovered all around his digestive tract ...my dad Was so desperate he cameToMexico To see another doctor and he couldn’t believe nothing was found and how he was treated! Doctors are supposed to go above and beyond for their patients thanks for nothing

In an attempt to get control of my weight, I was seeing a bariatric surgeon who sent me to Dr. Mallat to clear me for the surgery. I had several endoscopies and each time it was very late before he got to me. I finally found out through one of the hospital staff that Tuesday was “Endoscopy Day”. After draining my pancreatic pseudo cyst for a second time, I asked about the antibiotic he gave me the first time. Before running to his next endoscopy, he said he would send it in but asked that I call his office for a reminder. I called that afternoon. The person on the phone had no record of me even being his patient but took my name and number and said she’d talk to him. Nothing, so I call back the next day. This time, I have to leave a message. I call back the next day and the next day. On that Friday, I start running a fever. I never run a fever. My husband starts calling. We call the answering service on the weekend. I finally go to the ER, but there’s nothing wrong in my… blood work so they send me home. They tried to call him too but got nothing. My fever finally breaks a few days later, but I start having some pain. My doctor thinks it’s something minor but gives me a light muscle relaxer. The next day, I am in so much pain that I have to go to the ER. They say that I have pancreatitis again, though this feels different. They send me to another hospital and a specialist because they can’t figure out what was wrong with me. After a few hours, they figure out that there is a clot in my splenic vein and all my blood is backing up into my stomach! I am bleeding to death internally!!!! Thank God for Dr. Jeyharajah and his team. I would have died thanks to the lack of communication and care from Mallat. Additionally, he still sends me bills for $500. I laugh as I throw them away.

I left hospital after procedure with a fat painful upper lip. Dr. Mallat and staff seemed to pinch my upper lip between teeth and the piece that goes into mouth. They didn't bother to adjust it so my lip wasn't pinched. Now I have swollen painful lip.

I cannot get a call back from this office if my life depended on it. And so it did. The first time I saw dr. Mallat I walked into his office and he was texting. He asked my name and continued to text after I told him. After a couple minutes of texting, he looked at my physicians referral. Told me I needed a procedure and that was it. He is pompous and does not listen to his patients. He has never given me a physical exam, blood work or any typical diagnostic tools. Dr. Mallat acts as if all his patients are uneducated and dumb. If I ask him a question, he looks at me with disdain and disgust. Why would I want to know what a diagnosis he has given or a radiology report means physiologically? There is no way that I could ever understand his brilliance. It took a month to get a report to my physician from his office. Dr. Mallat’s office staff is horrible too. I have not met any staff that is close to competent. I cannot wait until I am rid of him and his rude disorganized… office.

By far the most ridiculously rude doctor I have ever visited! First, I get a call to come to my appointment 2 hours early... only to sit in the office for nearly 3 hours. Dr. Mallat had the nerve to walk in with an attitude. After I got called back into his office... no greeting, no hi, no hello, nothing welcoming... for someone who is putting money in your pocket. He asked me "Why am I here?"... in the driest tone you can possible think of. Spent all of 3min in his office for him to tell me to come back again... in a wk. I never went back and never plan on it. Not sure what's up with this guy... but if you want terrible service, he's the guy to go to!
