Dr. Daniel S Kushner, MD

After experiencing a gynecological issue for well over five years that has not been resolved, I finally decided to try yet another doctor and see if the cause could be identified and move on a different path. I work in healthcare and am well aware of what is expected. I would give this doctor one star ?? since he did go to medical school. These are some of the reasons I rated him so low: 1. As a new patient in OBGYN it is customary to first speak with the patient with their clothes on and get a little history, then give the patient time to put on the robe and prepare for exam. The assistant put me in a room, asked why I was there then the doctor spoke to me while I had no panties on and was covered with a very thin piece of plastic. 2. I was surprised he never introduced himself. 3. I wrote down some pertinent information about myself and at the end I wrote my goal was to find out the problem, get to the root of it and not treat it. He said that’s your problem, that will not happen.… What a shocker!! Perhaps that’s why so much money is made because when you treat the symptoms you can keep tre patient coming back and make more money. 4. I showed him pictures of my vaginal discharge and explained my symptoms and he said the picture looks fine and that’s normal. Vaginal discharge is not normal, especially when it’s ongoing for over five years. 5. He basically told me a lot of women would love to have my exam results despite my bagina which is ulcerated, itchy, bleeds, painful, etc. it’s like he was saying I should not complain. 6. In order to remain respectful and hold back from telling him what I really wanted to say, I kind of tuned out of the visit. I politely listened knowing I would not return. I started crying tears without any vocalizwtion:sound since I was so frustrated at him and the situation. He didn’t either bother to ask me why I was crying or if I was okay. That was very cold. 7. I guess he sensed I was not happy and was fearful since I was dressed in medical clothing and have worked in healthcare for over 15 years that I would escalate it. He tried to be friendly with me and put him elbow in my knee while I was naked and covered with a thin plastic sheet. That was unprofessional to me. I try to treat my patients the way I want to be treated cause I know it’s the right thing to do and I believe we Eap what we sow. I do not wish for this doctor be get in trouble-which is why I did not follow the chain of command to share my negative encounter with him. However, I want to share my experience so you can decide for yourself. I would like if he was counseled in this so that another patient would be have such a bad experience as I did. Very disappointed from my visit with him. 8. He said he would test my urine for urinary tract infection since I said I think I have a uti and never did. 9. Said he would refer me to a specialist and never did.

I have been with Dr.Kushner for many years he’s incredible I would never have another gyn touch me and his nurse Jessica is amazing as well highly recommend!

He's so understanding and doesn't make you feel awkward about your situation.

I have been going to Dr. Kushner for several years. He has always been very attentive to all my issues, big or small. From the first day I decided to make him my doctor he has made me feel as if I was the only patient. His staff is very friendly as well.

Very rude staff and doctor,had to call numerous times to get answers for a test even though I requested for someone to call me back after I did an annual and ended up in the e.r.,took almost three months of waiting and then I was rushed off the phone,the doctor also has horrible bedside manners,his staff is beyond incompetent and rude.

I made an appointment over the phone and all the receptionist asked was my full name and what insurance I had and told me she would see me on my scheduled date. (This was different for me by not having to give any other information.) Moving forward I went for my appointment when I reached the office I was a bit worried as they all seemed unprofessional and the place seemed a bit dirty. I was stupid and still decided to stay despite my feelings for the atmosphere there. When I reached the exam room the doctor was on his cell phone for about 10 minutes which I thought was rude. When he was done he walked over and started talking to me never was his hands or anything. This man startled to exam me and I felt so disgusted by his unsanitary actions as a doctor. But as he was examining me I looked around and I realized the entire room was just nasty and poorly unkept. He was in a rush to be done with me so that he could get back on the phone and have the nurse get the next patient… in. The staff look like they are just there for the check and they seem to take a lot of verbal abuse from Him from what I witnessed. I can go on with this bad review but it’s making me sick that I even went to Him in the 1st place. I would not send my enemy there as it was that bad. If you are looking for a good clean caring doctor do not visit Him. Take the time and find someone else. He is the worst and should not practice medicine.

This doctor operates as if it’s a meat packing facility. I had a 3:15 p.m. appointment. When I get there 10 minutes prior to the time, seven other patients also showed up. All of them had a 3:15 p.m. appointment. No wonder I had to wait an hour and a half. Doctor handles patients like a meat on the belt conveyor. His staff is also incompetent. I had to call more four times to ask them to submit a pre-authorization request to my insurance company. They still couldn’t do properly. They ask me to come to their office to do so many small things, which can be easily handled by phone. In fact, the majority of other doctors and medical facilities do so by phone. Of course, if I go there, they could charge me and get reimbursement from an insurance company. He is a financially motivated doctor.

It was my first time seeing Dr. Kushner for my annual and I WON'T be back. He's a young doctor but had good beside manners & did make me feel comfortable. However, I felt like my visit was seriously lacking. He ran 15 minutes late, and although he did apologize, I felt like my appointment was very rushed. He must have spent 10-12 MINUTES with me AT MOST. It was the quickest annual exam I've ever had in my life. He did a breast exam & pap exam, but NO PELVIC exam, which is crazy to me. He then spoke to me for a few minutes regarding birth control options, but I didn't feel like it was very informative or all my questions were really answered. Overall, I just felt like he didn't spend enough time with me. His nurse was friendly, however, she never took my vitals, nor asked for a urine sample! What kind of OBGYN office doesn't take your blood pressure or asks for a urine sample for an annual exam?! Keep in mind this doctor also put me on birth control. Luckily, I know my blood pressure is… normal, but putting someone on birth control without knowing a baseline blood pressure is a huge liability and risk, and I just felt like this was very irresponsible and negligent on their part. The office also looks a bit outdated. Front desk staff was decent, but seemed a bit disorganized. Another turn off was that this office still uses paper charts. This office also does not prescribe online directly to the pharmacy, so I had to bring an actual written prescription to my pharmacy which was inconvenient. There is also no patient portal, so you cannot view your results online. The office also never called regarding the results of my pap or mailed a letter. I had to call them myself to get results. I guess they don't care enough to let their patients know of their results. Overall, I was not impressed and was very disappointed based on the positive reviews I've read elsewhere. On the plus side, I've finally found an awesome OBGYN elsewhere, who actually took my blood pressure & spent over 30 minutes with me discussing birth control options with demos & information pamphlets in her office. It blows my mind that an office visit to discuss birth control with my new OBGYN was longer than an ANNUAL visit with Dr. Kushner. Moral of my story: there are much better OBGYN's out there!

My appointment was right on time, short wait. Have a urine sample. Pelvic exam was done gently, discussed concerns. Questions answered. He made me feel comfortable. Very professional and down to earth. Will be back.
