Dr. Daniel James Vargo, MD

I would not recommend Daniel Vargo to anyone. He is not a kind or compassionate doctor. I had excruciating pain after surgery that he performed. I contacted his office starting two days after surgery and communicated that I was having an unexpected and significant level of pain and asked for a follow up appointment. They would not allow me to come in for an appointment. I called more than once to ask for a follow up and my request was denied. I was eventually hospitalized and once I was admitted, I asked daily to been seen by Dr. Vargo and he would not come in to see me until I had been hospitalized for 13 days between two hospital stays. When he finally came in to my hospital room he was very condescending and rude. It was incredibly hurtful and frustrating to see his lack of compassion for me as a patient. He did not offer any sympathy or offer any assistance. I have never experienced so much physical pain in my life and the emotional distress caused to me by Daniel Vargo's lack of… care made the difficult situation much more traumatic.

When I needed him the most, Dr. Vargo was dismissive of my concerns and rude to me and his colleagues. If you have a choice, I would steer clear of this doc.

I went to see Dr. Vargo about an Inguinal hernia and he did a laparoscopic mesh repair on it in 2014. He didnt give me a choice of open or laparoscopic he just said he was going to schedule me for a mesh repair. I was uninformed of the difference between the two. About 5 weeks after the surgery I felt a split and a seperation right where the hernia was and all my symptoms and more came immediately back. I went back to Dr. Vargo and told this to him and his response was shocking, He told me that was impossible. And referred me back to urology before he considered taking the mesh out becuause they were the ones that found the hernia and he thought it might be something else. I went to urology and after a few very expensive and worthless MRI's and ultrasounds that costs thousands of dollars that didnt find anything I went back to Dr. Vargo and he just told his secretary to refer me to the pain clinic. This Dr. is either very ignorant or is willfull in pretending there are no serious… complications to mesh becuase he doesnt want to take it out. So I had to find a specialist in another state and pay 9100.00 out of pocket to get the surgery I desperately needed. If you want a bureaucratic Dr. an allopathic Dr that views his patients as money signs and numbers go see this piece of garbage. He knew it was the mesh and just blew me off becuase he is a coward.

He is a very good doctor he has help a lot of people I know. And his staff is very good people their very kind and willing to listen to what is wrong.

I wished that when the doctor has news about a procedure that he would take it upon himself so call the patient instead of having his staff make the call. There were questions that I needed to have answered but the staff were not the ones that could give the explanation.

I would defiantly recommend Dr. Vargo. He does an excellent job. He spent the time needed with me to go over my options with surgery, if I had questions or anything. I just don't remember seeing him after the surgery. I just had my surgery 4 days ago so I don't know what difference it will have made. but it wasn't his diagnostics that brought me to the surgery anyway.
