Dr. Darren Michael Allcock

I waited a year and a half for my first appointment. At that appointment a staff member belittled another patient next door. Then the doctor who seemed pleasant and knowledgeable told me that “I was confused” about symptoms I was experiencing unrelated to Endocrinology. I wasn’t given a follow up exam by him or his staff just blood work (which was done) with no follow up despite blood work being significantly outside the norm. I am guessing that they are too busy for most of their patients! Please use caution with this office.

Dr. Allcock was pleasant, knowledgeable and thorough. He couldn’t have been more polite. I am very pleased and would highly recommend him to anyone. The office staff was also very friendly.

I've seen Dr. Allcock a couple times for my thyroid nodule/ hypothyroidism issues. He was very nice and polite, listened and answered all my questions. He also performed a thyroid biopsy and ultrasound which was worrisome which turned out to be painless> I would for sure recommend Dr.Allcock> Not sure why so many negative reviews, but once I read them I had to post my experience, cause I thought/think he was/is a great dr!

I had read the previous reviews, and I went in with a sack FULL of skepticism. Well, I don't know WHO they were talking about, but it was NOT the man that I met today. He had a lot of my past records of the crap I've been through with my autoimmune hyperthyroidism, and was quite sympathetic and understanding. Now, one of the prior reviews stated that he was totally against prescribing Cytomel, which is what I have been using for over 10 years. There is a newer formulation on the market, so he has asked me to try it. But he also promised that if I start having any of the complications I had with the T4 preparations I had tried before, all I need to do is call him, and he will switch me back. That's all I asked for. He's a great guy. Don't believe the bad reviews. It's like the only the people who aren't satisfied at a restaurant...they're usually the only ones who write reviews. I'm here to try to even the score. DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE!

Reduces patient to test results. Will only prescribe Synthroid for hypothyroidism. Synthroid brought my lab results into normal range. I became a person with normal lab results who still felt like crap all the time. There was no difference in my feeling of well-being. This did not matter to Dr. Allcock, my numbers were normal, case closed. Out of desperation I went to another doctor. He looked at my lab results, asked me about symptoms and meds. He changed my prescription and I began feeling better in less than a day. I now feel great for the first time in years (even though my lab results were normal) and the new medication is much less expensive. I would not recommend Dr. Allcock.

The Doctor had no understanding or caring to how I felt at all. TSH was all he was concerned with. I had mentioned adrenal issues and discussed it with the nurse prior to my first appointment. She confirmed he was very good and able to handle it. He merely looked at my TSH and told me without any in-depth conversation, "I don't prescribe Cytomel, rarely Armour and believe in Synthroid." I cannot take Synthroid and have adrenal issues and he cared less. He explained nothing. Refused to discuss anything and just stared at me. He told me I should see a specialist if I had such issues "isn't that what he is?" And endo is supposed to be able to handle the entire endocrine system, adrenal, pituitary, FT3, FT4, From Tiredthyroid.com ( all 28 medical references are listed at the bottom of their site): "The TSH in people with a dysfunctional hypothalamus or pituitary gland will never accurately reflect their actual thyroid levels. [3] This is common in people who have had head injuries… from sports, car accidents, etc. Has anyone not bumped their head at some point, ever?" "Also, thyroid ablation (destruction) does not remove the Gravesâ?? antibodies from the blood, it merely eliminates the organ (thyroid) that was under attack. If the antibodies remain high, TSH levels will continue to be suppressed, no matter how low the actual thyroid levels are, and other organs like the eyes and skin can be attacked." The Doctor is uninformed and unwilling to listen. Don't waste your time or money.
