Dr. Darren Michael Boyer, MD

Dr. Boyer is the more unethical doctor I have ever seen. These were his words on my first appointment, and I quote " I am a communicator". I had an accident and was hospitalized at UCLA for 3 weeks, this visit was a follow up. He spent the whole appointment talking about life and not about my condition. After my first the visit, I called his office twice and left messages, my calls were never returned. He used the second appointment to tell me that I had to trust myself, to have faith. Bizarre comments coming from a doctor., not only because the accident I had, I have a heart condition that he was very well aware of as well, it's no a matter of faith!! After listening him for more than 20 minutes his nonsense talk, that I knew more than anybody about my condition, that I have a PHD in medicine, that I have to have faith, and so on. I asked him 4 times, what was the treatment he had in mind, I could not get an answer. Since I am taking Warfarine due to my heart condition, I… needed his authorization to have a blood test to check my blood coagulation time, he told me that was not problem, and then, he refused it . When I asked him the reasons for the refusal, he couldn't come up with a reason. I insisted to no avail!! I understood at that moment, he did not want to, nor knew, how to deal with a patient with a pre-condition. I had to wait 4 weeks and 2 appointments to come out with no medical treatment nor tests to evaluate my current condition.

Went in Dec 2018 for an incredible ear ache. Told him that I just went diving in Australia and my ear felt like it was about to explode. Upon examination, told me it was in my head. Really?? The next day, I went to urgent care and they told me I had an ear infection and prescribed antibiotics. Horrible!!!

I've had an elbow injury for the past six months, it is very painful to straiten or bend my arm. Doing normal activities can sometime be excruciating. Every time I saw Dr. Boyer he told me to just take tylenol and rest. I requested a referral for a specialist he never provided one after he promised to do so. He suggested an MRI and then changed his mind and told me I just needed more rest. I saw him multiple times for the past six months and my elbow has only gotten worse. He is extremely negligent and never did anything to treat my injury. Dr. Boyer is by far the worst doctor i've ever had.

Horrible bedside manner. Complained about his employer at Providence St. Johns the moment I met him. That immediately made me feel uncomfortable. Illegally ordered labs I did not authorize and when I complained to the office he personally called me and patronized me never explaining his reasoning for ordering the labs without my authorization. He then retaliated against me by putting character defaming and inaccurate information on my medical record, misquoting me and lying on my medical record. He has no knowledge of up to date regulations when it comes to vaccinations and appeared to be on drugs as he was very shaky and fidgety. This was the worst experience I've had at a doctors office. I spoke with management at the office and they agreed his notes were appalling and the lab work was not supposed to be sent in that manner. Needless to say he no longer works there, thank goodness. He must have had more complaints. Or maybe it's because his employer found out he was bad… mouthing them to patients. Either way, I'm not surprised.

Dr. Darren Boyer is sympathetic, understanding, and let's one disagree with him. He has exceptional bedside manner and is a very good listener.

Ugh. Keeps pushing steroidal medicine on me. Doesnt seem to know what he's doing. Seems super jumpy. Even though i keep telling him im sober, he keeps asking me if i want pain medicine.

Best doctor I have ever had.
