Having long suffered with issues of motility, frequent obstruction, with a history of Cancer and a previous incidence of a perforated bowel, Dr Brenner was the only physician out of many who was able correctly diagnose and treat the cause of my stomach's inability to coordinate muscular activity.

Highly recommend him. Be found a problem 5 other docs missed!

Although medical credentials matter when choosing a physician, yet, the most important quality, in my view, is how a physician interacts with a patient and REALLY listens to the patient's medical history and treats her/him with human dignity and empathy. In my life time, I have seen many physicians in various situations and circumstances, but none comes close to Dr. Brenner's ability to communicate clearly, patiently, and promptly. His promptness in answering my questions, and willingness to assist me in making certain decisions, sets him apart from all the others. His compassionate and helpful attitude, positive and pleasant interaction, and his availability to his patient's needs, make him a great healer! He leads an equally well trained and helpful office staff. Not too many physicians ask their staff to follow up with their patients after a visit or a hospital stay, but Dr. Brenner does!

Dr. Brenner is extremely arrogant and prefers to look at his computer during appointments. I saw him a total of 5 times and I cannot in good faith recommend him to anyone. He did not provide the help I needed for my condition.

DO NOT GO HERE, unless you are prepared to be nickeled and dimed. Northwestern charges a ridiculous "facility charge" on top of the regular outpatient appointment. Dr. Brenner is fine but the billing system is not!!

Dr. Brenner is very caring and compassionate, takes time to listen and is excellent in his diagnosis. He is very prompt in answering emails. So glad I was recommended to see him.

did not take adequate history. Chose a diagnosis which was not borne out by facts. Glad I moved on

Dr. Brenner is great: knowledgeable, skilled, creative. Like a detective, he has unravelled my multiple problems and treated them one by one, finding the right solution each time. Unfortunately, his nurse almost undoes all the good he does. She is impatient, provides wrong information, gets offended at patients' questions, and blames the patient if the medications do not work!

It is typical nowadays for physicians to spend most of their face-time with the patient not looking at the patient's face (or any other part of the patient)---rather, they peer into the computer and do not very much take history or examine---I often feel that I could have telephoned in my appointment rather than appear in person. I was impressed that when I saw Dr Brenner he had taken the trouble to review my history BEFORE he came into the room (he had seen me once before, long ago) and then interacted with me rather than his computer.

Reviewed my medical charts before I had my appointment and even hilighted items he had questions and concerns about. Took the time to sit and talk to me and explain things to me. Very informative and very nice!!! They only downfal is he referred me to Dr Boller who was a joke.
