Dr. Darren Egami is seeing patients just one day a week during the Covid-19 pandemic. ONE DAY A WEEK! outrageous!

Did a shoulder repair, he did an awesome job. He explained everything in detail prior to the procedure and eased my worries. He puts himself in his patients shoes and approach everything with caution. Bedside manners are the best, I really cannot say how appreciative to have him as my orthopedic surgeon, top notch.

Brilliant Orthopedic Surgeon who is absolutely NOT in a hurry to wheel a patient into surgery, unless it's the last option or completely necessary. I recommend him to anyone on Maui who is seeking an extremely brilliant caring Orthopedic for analysis & recommendations, treatment, etc. for their nagging biomechanical problems. He suggested at least three options for me to try to see if I could avoid surgery and it turned out that his first recommendation worked quite well BOTH times I saw him for each of my two shoulders (one froze up one year, then the other one froze up the following years). Thus, I was able to stay off the operating table & out of the hospital. He's great at interpreting MRIs, X-Rays, CT Scans, etc. as well

Dr. Egami set my shattered wrist. After the bones did not stay in the correct position, he personally arranged to have a specialty surgeon consider my case. The surgeon repaired my wrist and it is operational at about 95% function. Dr. Egami' s professionalism, follow up care, and sensitive bedside manner are beyond reproach. His office management is another story, sadly less than efficient and extremely long waits, even with an appointment. Sitting in his waiting room allowed me to interact with other patients. Without exception, each patient had excellent outcomes with their maladies thanks to Dr. Egami's surgical skills and follow up care. I would definitely seek Dr. Egami's services for future orthopedic procedures.

Dr. Egami is honest and is a careful and considerate surgeon. Those of us who live in this community know and understand his practice and ethics and apprciate his work. He is too busy however in part because of things said in this commentary.

Dr. Egami is one of a kind. He truly cares and will give individual attention to you.

I can't believe some reviewers would complain about Dr E. On an island in the middle of nowhere we are VERY, VERY LUCKY to have Dr Egami as part of our medical landscape.

Wait is long but worth it

Dr. Egami made the extra effort to understand my problem, consider the circumstances and find a reasonable solution. Appreciated his sincerity.
