Dr. David Barba, MD

I'd give him a negative 5. I have a torn tendon in my elbow and he preceded to tell me he couldn't do anything for me, and there were no options for me and to get cortisone shots for the rest of my life for pain. This is after I presented him with my MRI DVD and paperwork. Cortisone shots are only a bandage, not a fix. He's absolutely awful! He's a joke. I'm getting better options from my pcp, like stem cell therapy... Dr Barba should lose his license!

Dr. Barba has done a couple of surgeries for me and Has been nothing short of excellent. His bed side manner is great, he explains the procedure before and after, continues to monitor your recovery. Has had open dialogue with me each time about all that is required of me to ensure a speedy recovery. Listens to any recommendations I may have. Most importantly he is empathetic

Dr Barba performed a pec year surgery in my several weeks ago. I’m Very glad I got him as a doctor. He seems to be very well liked among his staff and he answered all of my questions and assured me he would do an amazing job.

I had pain inside my knee that was from a previous surgery. Dr Barba did a great job repairing and improving my knee problems. I would would recommend him to anyone that needs knee surgery.

My dad had to see him since he got hurt on the job. My dad’s work insurance required him to see Dr. Barba(obviously a workers comp. case). He pretty much mocked my dad; making him feel he was only there to milk the system. My dad told him all he wants to do is to get better and in fact has personal insurance and will gladly go that route but he was told by his own personal doctor that he needs to go through the work’s insurance first. This guys is clearly not looking out for the people, and assumes everyone is trying to do what’s wrong. Funny how the person’s review before mine hit the nail on the head with this guy. He was apparently moving to his Monterey location now so good luck to the patients over there.

If it is a workers comp case, do not think he will want you to be better, not willing to improve your condition just because he thinks he is saving money for workers comp. Did not even look at the correct paperwork for my results and was not offering any treatment options. (Got a second opinion, surgery is needed and i will be back to normal within a few months). Run!
