Dr. David Michael Katz, MD

I wish I had read tthe reviews before seeing Dr. Katz. He was quite rude to me, as well as his office staff member, Mary. Dr Katz was sarcastic in calling me "Doctor" when I would tell him what other doctors have told me. Dr. Katz disagreed with a medical program I am in for my condition. He wanted to advise me on more than just my eyes/neurological needs, which would be fine, except that he consistently disagrees with what other doctors tell me or advise. Mary, at the front desk was quite rude when I called and asked how I can leave a message for the doctor. She told me I cannot do that, I need to send an email, which I did. Mary called me back and told me I have to explain, in detail, what I want to speak to the doctor about. I wanted to speak to the doctor, not an office staff. I reluctantly explained that I did not feel comfortable discussing with her about my health because she came off as rude. She responded that she is "never rude to anyone". I was amazed at this response.

I have been a patient with Dr Katz for more than seven years. After seeing several neurologists, Dr Katz has been the only one to effectively manages my intractable migraines headaches. He is an active listener and responsive to my concerns in coping with migraines.

Continually overbilled me or my insurance company. Felt more like an income ssource than a patient. Some staff nice, some not. Billing agent is nasty. Office dog was best thing about the placvte. Go elsewhere if you need a neurologist.

Dr Katz is an excellent, caring physician. He always takes time to discuss my issues and has offered referrals to rule out further problems. He is very busy , so I always make my next appointment when I leave. If I have to cancel, I may have a wait to get another appointment. I come all the way fron SW DC to see him, and I woulsn't do that if I didn't think he was excellent.

Dr. Katz jumped to conclusions and ruled out extremely major diseases after a two minute exam, without listening very well to my concerns. I hope he is right. I feel like the visit was a waste of time. I am disappointed, because he was recommended by a doctor I greatly respect.

After years of suffering from migraines and being given many different medicines including narcotics, I was despirate to get relief. Within 4 weeks after starting Dr. Katz's recommended treatment, my headaches were 90% gone.Also, his staff is great and the office is very calm.
