Summary
I've seen a lot since I graduated from medical school 50 years ago. I've watched Jacksonville grow from a quiet town to a big city, and I've watched my patients grow from children to adults. During this time, my jobs have included roles as a flight surgeon and an assistant medical officer in the U.S. Navy.
I tried retiring in 2005, but that only lasted about eight months. I've decided to stick with a part-time schedule instead. This allows me more time to spend with my family. My wife and I have been married for more than 50 years, and we have three children and two granddaughters.
In my spare time, I enjoy studying history and reading. I also support more than 50 charities, including environmental, educational and veterans' organizations.
