Dr. David William Scandinaro, MD

I did not have good experiences with this doctor. Firstly, he prescribed me a medication that is supposed to be taken with birth control without making sure I was taking birth control because he assumed I was not sexually active. Luckily I was not, however there was no discussion with me. He seems to not understand LGBT issues (I dated a boy and then later a girl and he asked me if I was "sure" of my sexuality now). I was extremely underweight due to medications I was taking and when I began taking a medicine that promoted weight gain, he began measuring my waist every session even though I said I was perfectly fine with weight gain as I was underweight to begin with. He made comments about how I should start to exercise and how "girls my age typically want to lose weight." Lastly and most disturbingly, I requested transcripts from our appointments years after I stopped seeing him. I found that there were SEVERAL diagnoses he never discussed with me. I was unable to find support and… take an active part in my treatment because this information was withheld from me. I strongly recommend not going to this doctor, especially if you are any minority.

Genuine, caring, and compassionate. He is a wonderful physician.

Dr. Scandinaro is probably one of the worst doctors I have never seen. He treated me in an impolite manner, by often making crude remarks, rescheduled appointments without my consent, while also charging me for those appointments, and violated patient confidentiality by addressing me in public, after I had made it perfectly clear not to. He is a absolutely vile human being, and failed to help me under any circumstances. Often Dr. Scandinaro's diagnoses were far from correct. His remarks were often inappropriate, mentioning things that were off topic, and addressing other personal conversations that had gone on with other family members that were completely deemed private. I would never recommend him under any circumstances.

I saw dr scandinaro in 1998, and a few years after that.He is the best psychiatrist I have ever seen.
